Excellent sound fidelity at an affordable price

5

I got these headphones about half a year ago, and they have held up great since then. At their price point, you'll be hard pressed to find another pair of in-ear headphones with comparable sound quality. Both low and high ranges are crisp, and you'll find yourself hearing basslines you did not know existed before. The fit can be a bit jarring at first, but fiddle around with the different size modules and make sure that you have them oriented correctly for a tight seal. Comfort If you've never tried in ear headphones before, these will definitely be a bit uncomfortable at first. Ease yourself into them with shorter listening sessions. Klipsch has a unique ear fit where the pads are tilted a bit, so make sure you are inserting them into your ear correctly!

Expensive but nice

4

I lost my pair of these and have been regretting it since. I haven't found any headphones that fit quite like these did. With the sound blocking ear pieces it was nice to be able to listen to something in a noisy house or area without being disturbed and not having a giant headset on my head. Sound Quality These had great sound, perhaps this was enhanced by being able to block out all the other sounds while I listened, but hey, every little bit helps. Comfort These felt like they were made just for your ear, and in a lot of ways they were in the way they were designed. The ear pieces would mould to your ear canal and were really hardly noticeable, unless I went for a run, sometimes they would slip. Design These were great looking headphones, for me personally I like low-key type things, for example, if I ever got a tattoo, it'd probably just be one and it would be the color of my skin. People could still see it if they were paying attention, but it wasn't something that stood out. These headphones are great for just blending in. Durability This is where these headphones are the most annoying, the ear pieces pop off very easily, luckily they are extremely expensive but if you have no extra on hand and you lose an ear piece you're going to be out of an ear piece for a while. If I could request anything for these headphones, making the cords anti-knotting, it's very easy for them to get all twisted up.

Amazing little Buds!

5

So for some reference I am quite the audiophile. I own several headsets with my favorite companies in descending order being Audio Technica, Sen.,Klipsch, and Bose. I prefer a "natural" sound. I have an EQ if I want a base heavy headset so I don't want that in my music by default. That being said...these buds are fantastic! Once you use a non-stock set of buds you will never want to go without them. I bought these, because I wanted good sound for the price that could fit into my pocket. These fit the bills perfectly. Klipsch is an amazing American company and these earbuds a nice natural sound. The presentation is beautiful and they do a FANTASTIC job isolating sound. When they are in your ears you will struggle to hear anything other then fantastic clarity of the sound that they produce. I listen to pop, classical, electronic, rock and no matter what the genre these little buds are fantastic. My only complaint is that due to the size and the goal of natural sound they tend to lack base in certain circumstances. Not a base junkies earbuds, but a solid buy for anyone else.

Wonderfully lightweight earbuds that unfortunately fall apart

3

These sound great and look great, but unfortunately they fall apart. I have owned multiples of both the basic version and the "S4i" version with integrated iPod/iPhone controls, and I've had to have both replaced on warranty. Warranty service is wonderful - no questions asked and they let you keep the old ones - but the replacement ones fall apart as well. These are cheaper than the equivalent Shure models, especially at online retailers that discount them, but you get what you pay for. Sound Quality Excellent! Just the right balance of bass and treble. Lots of detail. And the noise cancellation works great. Comfort A variety of tips allow these to fit into most any ear. So the ear comfort is great. But the overall comfort isn't as wonderful. If the rubber grommet on the wires breaks, it's easy for the flimsy wires to get caught on things. Design Audio engineering-wise, the design is top-notch. I'm not an audiophile, but my MP3s - from 128kbps to 320kbps - all sound wonderful on these. However, these lack one killer feature of equivalent Shure models - the extra connection that allows the headphones to disconnect from the plug when the wires get caught. If you snag these on something, expect to have them ripped out of your ears violently. Durability Durability is where these things fall apart. The very thin coating on the wires tends to break or wear out, which means patching them with Plasti-Dip or electrical tape. The little rubber grommet - the piece that slides up and down the wires so that you can turn the 2 stereo wires into a single wire for storage or fasten the wires securely around your neck - tends to break with normal wear and tear in a few months. Once that happens, your earphones can easily get tangled during storage and get caught on clothing fastenings when you're wearing them. The earbuds themselves are more durable, but after a year of use, you may find that one completely shorts out - permanently. Not sure if this is because the wires get messed up or something in the earphone itself breaks, but either way, it's a bummer. Note that this doesn't happen as quickly as with the equivalent Etymotic models - and don't have to be cleaned all the time like the Etymotic - but it's still a problem.

Great headphones from Klipsch

4

I did my homework when I decided to purchase this product, and I am very satisfied with this pair of headphones. The sound cancelling feature works very well, and the sound quality is wonderful (I don't find any specific boost in bass or treble, but it is a delight to listen music with). I am a frequent flyer, and having a pair of noise canceling headphones to take out the plane engine noise makes my flight more musically enjoyable. The ear gels, which come in three different sizes, are quite comfortable and fit for my ears, so I use them even when I go jogging. I really can't complain about anything with these headphones. This can be quite a pricey piece of electronics, but I think it is well worth the money.  Note: I had to send my first pair back to be replaced because my ears keep getting static shock from the headphones. This is a rare and interesting problem, and the new pair does not do this anymore.

Klipsch Image S4 offer decent sound for their price.

*Pros:* I've had the Klipsch s4's for a a long time. I've had plenty of ups and downs with them, allow me to clarify. I had S___re e2c before but they broke after much abuse. I picked these up because of rave reviews in the price segment, I immediately fell in love with the comfort, and the sound alike. The bass was livelier compared to my older IEM's and mids and highs were on point, not drowned or muffled. I had to make my friends listen to these. Two of them ended up getting their own pairs, and I bought a pair for a good friend of mine. She in turn showed a few more people. and they bought their own pairs as well. People get blown away by the sound, it's clear and define, and nothing is over powered.I also take the subway at least 5 days a week [live in NY], and I don't have to turn it up too much to drown out the train noise... GREAT passive noise isolation. Plenty of eartips to choose from as well, check out their site for 5 different *Cons:* No product is perfect, and these are no exception. I would have taken away eggs, except there were dealt with accordingly. I accept I was unlucky.1) My Klipsch s4's are fragile. They broke. Twice, by the 3.5mm jack. But Klipsch's relentless customer service had my music back within a few weeks and gave me free eartips as well! It is said the best customer service is the one you never have to contact, but I can't say it was an unpleasant experience... They have wonderful customer service.2)They make low quality music sound like horrendous. Listening to music on youtube is painful, the highs lows and mids all sound mashed up together. You need some higher quality mp3's and flacs even to really appreciate these headphones. I made my friends listen to high quality music, which is why some of them decided to purchase their own... and we're poor college students, but these have been prioritized =P
