KitchenAid kitchen aid stand ice cream maker attachment Review

I received the Kitchenaid Stand Ice Cream Maker Attachment for a wedding gift to go along with my Kitchenaid Mixer.  I was very disappointed because of the amount of time you have to freeze both the bowl and the ice cream in the bowl.  You don't use rock salt, so really all it is is a bowl with liquid inside freezes in the freezer.  My ice cream that I made was runny and never firmed up the way old fashioned ice cream makers do.  I also made sorbet and it did a similar thing.  The sorbet turned out better since as long as the mixture was frozen, it turned out OK.  It was also extremely expensive and I would not have ever bought it if I hadn't gotten it as a gift and registered for it.  The only thing I did like about this product was that it takes up less space than most other ice cream makers I have seen in the past.  Still, you have to put and keep everything in the freezer of which I don't have room for.
