Most HelpfulAfter years and years of putting up with dealing with cheap flimsily-made plastic housing stand mixers, broken plastic housings, broken beaters, broken gears and burnt out motors, I decided that enough was enough!!
I became so fed up with the extremely poor quality and the poor services of those wimpy units that I made a promice to myself that I would NEVER buy anything less than a KitchenAid Stand Mixer!!
So I bought the K-45SS Stand Mixer. It was on sale for only $165.00! That $165.00 has gone a very long way! The mixewr has more than paid for itself tenfold!! I really got my money's worth. ...

We have had this machine for 13 years and it works like a champ. We make waffles with it nearly every weekend. It is great a beating egg whites into nice stiff peaks. It also handles high volume jobs with lots of ingredients very well. It is heavy so I would suggest you find a place for it on a cooking accessible counter near an outlet.
The various attachments have met all of our needs.
It can be a bit loud when at high speeds.
My mom still has her KitchenAid mixer from when she was first married and I come from a family of bakers so this machine did get a work out.
When I got marred my husband (ex now) thought he would just get me a hand mixer for Christmas and made the mistake of telling my parents that. OH that so did not fly. My parents bought me my very own KitchenAid mixer for my very own and it's still going strong.
I love to bake and I use my mixer for cookies, breads, frosting's and even mash potatoes. Oh yeah, if you want a fluffy, no lump mashed potatoes this is the machine to have. As mom puts it...add...
review »My husband bought me my KitchenAid Classic Stand Mixer for my birthday a couple of years ago. Now that I have one, I am not quite sure how I lived without one for so long. I use it to make so many things. It comes with three different mixing attachments, four speeds, directions, and a recipe book. These were all great and very useful features. KitchenAid has made this product so easy to opperate as well. Most things that you make, you can just put the ingredients in the bowl, turn it on and walk away. It's so great when you are preparing a meal to be able to go do some thing else...

When we moved into our house, my sister and cousin chipped in to buy us a KitchenAid Stand Mixer as a housewarming gift. I was a little puzzled by the choice as it was no secret that I was rather frightening in the kitchen. They swore that they couldn't survive in their own kitchen without theirs and that I'd eventually see the light. A few years later, I have to say that I have.
The Kitchen Aid Classic Stand Mixer has a powerful 250 watt motor that easily mixes mashed potatoes, batters, pizza and cookie doughs, etc. in its 4.5 quart stainless steel bowl. It comes with a paddle mixer,...
review »I love this mixer because it can be used for every cooking task -- big or small. It handles 4 loaves worth of bread dough as well as it blends spice mixes. In most cases, it comes with three different stirring hooks and a splatter guard (great when mixing anything with flour). The hooks and splatter guard are dishwasher safe. Also, the amount of accessories available is staggering...a meat grinder, pasta maker, ice cream maker, etc.
It is now available in just about every color you can imagine, so it is sure to match your kitchen. Some money from each sale of the pink one even benefits...
review »My Kitchen Aid stand mixer is practical, versatile and takes the work out of making a meatloaf and makes whipping egg whites a snap. I haven't had it long but I am getting ready to give it a good workout making Christmas cookies, cakes and breads. I feel it is a good value for my money.
The only problem I have found is that it's sometimes difficult to get the bowl firmly in place. The bowl is about 5 quart so it's great for big batches, although you wouldn't want to get rid of your hand mixer for small quick jobs such as beating one egg.
It is fairly heavy and you will want to find a home for...
review »I purchased my kitchen aid mixer about 8 years ago. Since I have purchased it I have had nothing but good things to say about it. It is sturdy, beautiful, and extremely easy to operate. The mixer is heavy but I leave it on my counter so that is not really an issue.
My mixer came with a whisk, a dough hook and a paddle as well as a pouring shield which makes it easy to add flour etc. while the mixer is running. Over the years I have added a couple of attachments including the grinder which is wonderful for making chopped meat. I can buy lean cuts of chicken, turkey or beef and know...
review »I have owned my red KitchenAide Stand Mixer for years. It is not only a great mixer, but a great accent to the home. It mixes, whips and kneads! As much as I love my mixer, I have had some issues with it withstanding thick dough or double batches, but I would never give it up. It is durable, dishwasher friendly and automates mixing and kneading so I don't have to.
It add fun and style to cooking and is easy enough to use for a novice and efficient enough for a professional. The KitchenAide Stand Mixer was the best Christmas gift ever. This appliance has taken me from the basic cookie...
review »KitchenAid mixers are the best! I never believe it until I got on myself. I always hated spending such a large amount of money on a small appliance but if you use it enough, you will get your money's worth. It beats, whips, mixes....flawlessly. Of course it's not without a few drawbacks. The unit itself is very heavy and because it's so heavy I store mine on my countertop which does take up a little space. The attachments and bowl must be cleaned and dried immediately to avoid rusting....I've not put mine in the dishwasher at all. I'm not willing to risk it. The pros are that it's...
review »I bought several "cheap" handheld mixers and one not so cheap mixer, they all broke not long after buying. I finally decided to spend the extra money for a Kitchenaid stand up mixer, that was several years ago...love it!
I have brought this wonderful investment with me to all my homes across the oceans from California to Guam then on to Hawaii over the last 25+ years, and it's still going strong as the day I bought it!
Even my husband uses it for making his favorite dip, cream cheese and kim chee.
My Kitchenaid came with 3 different mixing whips and one large and one small mixing bowl. I have...

All my life I've used a hand mixer. I finally just got this standing mixer a couple of months ago. I'm having trouble weaning myself off the hand mixer. I've used it a couple of times on big projects but for little ones I'm still reaching for the hand mixer. I understand that being intimidated by an appliance is my problem so I guess the problem I have with the standing mixer is that it is a little cumbersome to get set up and pulled apart again when I'm done. I do like having my hands free to do other things do other things though. I am hopeful that the more I use it, the more I'll...
