My Kitchen Aid stand mixer is practical, versatile and takes the work out of making a meatloaf and makes whipping egg whites a snap. I haven't had it long but I am getting ready to give it a good workout making Christmas cookies, cakes and breads. I feel it is a good value for my money.
The only problem I have found is that it's sometimes difficult to get the bowl firmly in place. The bowl is about 5 quart so it's great for big batches, although you wouldn't want to get rid of your hand mixer for small quick jobs such as beating one egg.
It is fairly heavy and you will want to find a home for it on your counter so you don't need to lift it in and out of a cabinet, etc., but the design is attractive and it's handy to have it readily available for use.
Compared to my old stand mixer (Oster brand) it is much sturdier and able to handle heavier mixtures and the 3 different beaters make it easy to go from beating egg whites with the wire whip to making meatloaf with the flat beater to kneading bread dough with the dough hook.
I would reccommmend this to any serious cook who is looking for a heavy duty, multi-function stand mixer
