When it came time to create our wedding registry, the first thing I flew to was the Artisan mixer.  I had heard tons of reviews on how useful it was, how it lasted forever, and how it comes in so many cute colors!  Sure enough, I found a color I loved - caviar, a sparkly black.  I never guessed how much I would use it once I found out how easy it was to use.  I use it to make bread, whip cream or egg whites, make compound butters, make all sorts of baked goods and probably most importantly (to me) - whip up a big bowl of chocolate ganache!  The only downside is the attachments are so expensive - I've bought only the meat grinder so far to make sausages a la Alton Brown on Good Eats.  Wish I could get more, but I can't justify it if I don't see myself using them overly often.  Overall, I recommend this to any kitchen-gadget lover or newlywed!
