 I received this mixer as a wedding gift from my parents almost 20 years ago.  It has had almost daily use, doing everything from whipping cream to cakes and even bread.  With the attachments, I've ground meat, made pasta, pureed vegetables, and grated cheese.  A previous user found the short cord a problem, but as my mixer never leaves the counter, I find this to be an asset.  The mixer stays in a specific spot, near an outlet, and is used all the time.  The bowl and attachments are simple to use and easy to clean, and made to last!  I plan to give each of my children one of these mixers for their weddings, as well.  Making cookies, brownies, even bread becomes a simple task with this machine.  And the durability; I cannot say enough.  This thing just doesn't stop!  The price may seem high compared to other mixers, but you won't have to buy another one for many years, if ever.  My mother had hers for over 30 years before she replaced it.
