Yes, I'm eating a microwave dinner at the moment, but that only means I'm in a hurry, not that I'm not a darn good cook and quite experienced in the kitchen.  But the All-Star Game comes on in a little while and me missing it in order to make a homecooked meal is out of the question. But generally I'm as enthusiastic about cooking as I am about baseball.  And since I seem to be incapable of cooking for just two people and cook instead for an entire team,  that's where this **KitchenAid 16-Cup Food Processor** (#KPFP850) comes in.  It's a gem. This KitchenAid food processor is not the type to grace your counter and gather dust while you eat out regularly.  There are cheaper and flashier versions to act as decoration as opposed to a small kitchen appliance.  And, unless you cook in the vast quantities that I do, you'd probably be better off looking at a smaller model.  But for me, this is THE ONE. KitchenAid is a premium brand and manufactures a quality product.  It is not inexpensive by any means, but entirely worth the expense.  The body of the food processor is solid and weighty.  The attachments are similarly constructed and sturdy.  The buttons and mechanisms are intuitive in nature and designed with safety in mind.  I'd buy another KitchenAid if I ever need another food processor, but this one is so well-designed and well-made that I doubt I'll ever need to.

I've had this unit sine April, '06, and I can honestly tell you that this machine meets and exceeds all of my expectations!! The extremely powerful 1,000-watt motor is quick, powerful, efficient and will not bog down under heavy loads!! It powers the large razor-sharp serated edge metal chopping blade that quickly & powerfully chops up raw meat for burgers, meat loaf and patees in record time!! I especially like the large capacity 16-cups work bowl, the 13-cups chefs' bowl and the 4-cups mini work bowl, which has its own small serated edge chopping blade to help you get those pesky little chopping & mincing jobs done, such as with garlic and herbs!! The extra large feed tube assembly accommodates whole small iems such as tomatoes & potatoes. Also comes with regular metal chopping blade, plastic dough blade, egg whipper, 3 slicing & shredding disks and an accessory display box to store most of the attachments when not in use, as well as a very srurdy instruction / recipe manual. Smartly designed safety interlock system helps garrantee that the unit will NEVER operate unless main work bowl, lid and pusher assembly are on motor base and are locked into position for machine to operate! Has very heavy diecast metal base with glossy baked enamel finish. All parts except motor base can be washed by hand in hot soapy water or in dishwasher in top rack away from the heating element. Activating buttons, off, on and pulse, are sealed under rubber on small panel to protect against any liquid, dirt or moisture. Small blue on light. Work bowls, cover and pusher assembly are made of thick-guage tough high-impact polycarbonate material to stand up to tough everyday use! Unit can also be used for small catering functions as well!! This powerful unit easily trounces over anything else that you might have used in the past!! I'm very happy with it!! Ina ll the times that I've used it, and I've put it through some very daunting tasks, I have NEVER ONCE tripped the motor's overload switch!! Cuisinart calls themselves now coming out with a similar unit, but Kitchenaid has already won me over!! I really like this machine!! I love my kitchenaid processor! It does everything!  From making french fries to making my own homemade orange juice!  It comes with a ton of add on parts, you can do anything.  The key is to learn how to use it as a tool, and not to make an entire recipe.  Of course there are some recipes that you will just throw in the food processor and that is it, but not many!  I have used it to make guacamole, pesto, hummus, and salsa.  I think that is it?  You can use it to make a pie crust!  You can also use it, simple to slice things, literally in seconds.  There is a special blade to make french frieds, there is another blade so you can make scalloped potatoes in seconds!  It comes with a spatula with a flat end perfect for mixing.  It also comes with 3 different sized bowls inside of it.  So you dont have to clean every part of it every time you use it.  use it for a small job and just throw the small bowl in the dishwasher when you are finshed!

The Kitchen Aid 16 quart food processor has made life significantly better for me!  Tasks in the kitchen which were time consuming and laborious are now quickly and efficiently done: cheese grating, vegetable and fruit slicing for soups or pies, pastry making, parsley chopping in the added mini-bowl, pureeing, etc.  I was reluctant to get one but received it for a gift and have been surprised how much help it is and how often I use it.  Preparing family meals, especially for soups or pastry doughs, savory or sweet, is so much more quickly done. The motor seems very powerful and strong. I have also been impressed with its sturdiness and the design and engineering of its parts.  Specifically, how simply, and solidly its parts fit together, plus how easy it is to clean.  There are no parts of the lid or bowl which cannot be easily reached with dish washing brush.  All the parts are dish washer safe and can be just as readily tossed into the dish washer.  The body of the machine is also attractive, comes in many colors and is easily cleaned as well.

This food process is the best thing since sliced bread.  It has a huge capacity and tons of accessories and works great!!  The weekend I got it, I made homemade pesto, bread and raspberry pepper jam all made mostly from ingredients from our gardens.  It was the best investment I could have made for my kitchen.  I LOVE to cook and bake and am not afraid to experiment with different foods.  It works so smoothly and is so easy to clean up.  It comes with three different sized work bowls, a scraper, two metal blades, one which is used for the larger bowls and one for the smallest bowl, one bread blade, one egg whipper attachment and three shred type discs.  I am so happy I got this and can't wait to try to make something else this weekend.  I can't say enough positive things about it.  It is sturdy, durable and very well made.  I plan on being able to hand this one down to the next generation.  I might have to buy another one so I don't have to decide which son to give it to.  I LOVE IT!!!
