As long as I can remember, a KitchenAid mixer has been part of my life--my mother had one, and when I moved out, it was the big college graduation gift I requested. I love this mixer, it can do anything, and it beats the hell out of creaming butter and sugar by hand for all the Christmas cookies I bake! This product is extremely durable, and unless something drastic happens, you will probably need only one for your entire life. It is powerful, and the different speed settings are easy and intuitive to navigate. It is very heavy, so expect to part it in a corner of your kitchen and not move it (possibly ever), but any necessary cleaning can be accomplished either by washing the detachable bowl or wiping it down with a rag. I have many fond memories of baking with my mother and using this mixer, and it has only continued to live up to my expectations now that I have one of my very own. Highly recommended.

I was hesitant to spend this much money on an appliance when I could have spent much less on some other brands. In the end, I'm so glad that I did! I have had this KitchenAid for YEARS, and it has worked wonderfully every time. It mixes and blends like a dream. I have never had trouble with it not being able to get through anything. All of its parts are well-made, and I can't anticipate any of them breaking anytime soon. The mixing paddles get all the way to the edge of the bowl, so there is little need to keep stopping the machine to scrape down the sides (like I would often have to do with other mixers). It was a big investment, but since it has lasted so long, I'm so happy ... I wonder if I had bough a cheaper mixer if it would have broke by now and I would have had to spend even more to replace it. The only downside to this machine is that it is HEAVY. It is not something you will want to take out and put away every time you use it. But since it looks so nice, I don't mind keeping it out in the corner of my counter so it is ready for me when I need it. Ease of Cleaning There are no smal crevices that are hard to clean - everything can wipe down easily.
