The Kitchenaid KUDE60FVPA... looks great, cleans great, quietly

from Garland, TX

Comments about KitchenAid KUDE60FVPA Built-in Dishwasher:

With a broken dishwasher and carloads of holiday guests on the way, I decided it was time for a new dishwasher. I got a great deal on the Kitchenaid KUDE60FVPA and I am very happy with the purchase.

Installation was fairly easy and straightforward. I did have a bit of trouble with the depth of the dishwasher. I have partial overlay style cabinets, and making a custom panel to match added too much depth to the unit. I had to modify the wall behind the dishwasher to accommodate the style of panel I wanted. You may want to double check the depth of your cabinets and remember that the front panel will add ¾” or so to the front of the dishwasher.

This dishwasher is quiet! So far I am extremely happy with the sound level during all operations. It is nice to be able to start the dishwasher and still have a conversation in the kitchen… with the dishwasher only barely audible.

For the most part the racks are more than adequate for my needs. With many more people than usual in the house, loading was still a breeze. There were occasions that the bottom rack filled too quickly, leaving a plate or two stranded. I simply removed the utensil basket, put the forks and knives on the top third rack, and fit everything else easily. The little clips to help lighter cups stay in place really come in handy for plastic cups or lids.

As for how well it cleans, I have not seen a single instance of a dirty spoon, or gunk on a plate. Time will tell, but so far it has performed perfectly.

So far, there is only one real issue. The bottom rack has a tendency to slip off its “track” if it is not pulled directly forward. It has taken a bit of getting used to, but if you grab it from exactly the center of the rack and roll it out carefully each time, it will roll out with ease. If it does happen to slip off, it is a simple matter of nudging it over and back into place.

I am very happy with the Kitchenaid KUDE60FVPA.
