The pouring shield makes it easy to dump ingredients in, and not get them poofed back in your face! I occasionally whip up batches of decorator's cake icing, which...
review »I postponed the purchase of my Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer for years because it was too expensive and only caved in after I was able to use a 20% off coupon at Linens & Things and got free shipping besides. (I may add that having this shipped is a good idea unless you have your car with you as most types of Kitchen Aid Mixers tend to be very heavy and difficult to carry.) When the big day came and my mixer showed up, it was a project just to lift it out of its box and get it up on the counter ... but it was worth it. A Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer is a major investment which will pay for itself...
review »For 27 years, I've been using the Sunbeam Mixmaster that my grandmother received as a present before the Second World War (yeah, they don't make stuff like that anymore!). I kept saying that when it died, I'd get one of those nifty KitchenAid mixers.
The Sunbeam is still going strong, but last January, Amazon had a great deal on the Artisan, I had gift certificates, and let's just say that it was too good to resist: I like to make bread, and this mixer has a dough hook.
Once I got used to the modern technology (You have to lock the mixer head when you lower it! There are different beaters for whipping...
review »Not many appliances earn their keep. The KitchenAid Mixer does that and more. When my old Sunbeam wore out, I looked for a replacement with enough power to do some of the heavier recipes such as bread dough. I didn't know what I was missing. The capabilities of this machine have saved me untold hours and labor. I purchased mine with the dough hook and whisking attachments. It does bread dough perfectly and my holiday baking is done in record time. There are so many attachments available for making pasta, forcemeats, grinding, that you can just get rid of all the other appliances you used...
review »I hesitated buying Kitchenaid Mixer, wondering if it was worth the price. I wondered if I would use it enough to make up for the price. The answer is yes, it was well worth it. I use my Kitchenaid nearly everyday. It makes fantastic bread dough, makes cake batters, pie crust, even mixes meatballs so you don't have to get your hands it the meat. If your hesitating like I was, I say go for it. The hardest part about buying a Kitchenaid mixer is deciding which color to choose. And Kichenaid makes great attachments for the mixer which makes it even more useful!
The KitchenAid Artisan Mixer is great. I got one when I got married last year, and I use it for pretty much everything. It's powerful, easy to clean, and it looks great and very professional on a countertop. Plus, it comes in like a zillion colors, so you can get what fits with you. The main downside I would say is that if it does not fit right onto your countertop, it will pretty much be a waste to you, because you'll never want to lift it out of a cabinet or anywhere else over to your counter, because it's so dang heavy. Otherwise -- this is a fabulous cooking product!!
