I shopped around a long time before I bought this mixer. Based on other reviews and the great reputation of KitchenAid, I finally took the plunge. While it's a lot of money to shell out for a countertop appliance, I've found that it's been worth every last cent. No more scraping the sides of the bowl with a spatula, no more unmixed flour in the bottom of the bowl, and it is pretty and sleek enough that I can keep it sitting on my counter!

The pouring shield makes it easy to dump ingredients in, and not get them poofed back in your face! I occasionally whip up batches of decorator's cake icing, which...

With the Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer the possibilities are endless. From mashed whipped potato's to creme brulee, you  can do anything.  Bread, cakes, cookies, crisp, etc. I have owned mine for 5 years now and it has not failed me once. It's easy to clean cause you only need to clean the bowl and the attachments and that's it. And don't forget about all the other attachments, for pasta, grinding, juicer, shredder, ice cream; you get my point, like i said the possibilities are endless, so if you think you have no space for it trust me is worth the investment. Make some space for it, you won't regret... review »

I postponed the purchase of my Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer for years because it was too expensive and only caved in after I was able to use a 20% off coupon at Linens & Things and got free shipping besides.  (I may add that having this shipped is a good idea unless you have your car with you as most types of Kitchen Aid Mixers tend to be very heavy and difficult to carry.)  When the big day came and my mixer showed up, it was a project just to lift it out of its box and get it up on the counter ... but it was worth it.  A Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer is a major investment which will pay for itself...

This mixer is the only mixer I will ever own. My mother has one, my sister has one, my friends have them, and we all agree that it meets all our needs. The speeds go from a very slow "stir" which doesn't throw the flour all over your kitchen to a "whip" that goes from cream to whipped cream in no time at all, but the steps are slow enough that you can always find the right speed. I no longer overbeat my cakes and I no longer have lumpy cookie dough. It's wonderful!

For 27 years, I've been using the Sunbeam Mixmaster that my grandmother received as a present before the Second World War (yeah, they don't make stuff like that anymore!). I kept saying that when it died, I'd get one of those nifty KitchenAid mixers.

The Sunbeam is still going strong, but last January, Amazon had a great deal on the Artisan, I had gift certificates, and let's just say that it was too good to resist: I like to make bread, and this mixer has a dough hook.

Once I got used to the modern technology (You have to lock the mixer head when you lower it! There are different beaters for whipping...

I bought a Kitchen Aid mixer and I love it. Use it almost daily.  I make cakes, mashed potatoes, everthing you would use a mixer for with it.  I love the fact that it is a stand mixer and you don't have to stand there and hold it.  The thing I don't like about it is it is heavy.  I also hate the fact that the attachments for it are so expensive.  I will probably purchase attachments on ebay.  this is some info I found out about them:Even though there are many choices when it comes to owning a KitchenAid mixer, there really are only 2 different types.

The first is the head tilting models....

I grew up and learned to cook on this mixer.  My mom had one and it was so great to use growing up.  When I first moved out and when to college I used a budget mixer and it worked, but nothing in comparison.  When I got engaged this was the first thing on my registry and the first thing bought for us by none other than my mom.

It works great on low and high settings. There is no need to scrape the sides with a spatula to get everything mixed, just add ingredients and start.  It comes with a splash guard which is great.

There are many accessories my favorite is probably the grater.  You...

Not many appliances earn their keep. The KitchenAid Mixer does that and more. When my old Sunbeam wore out, I looked for a replacement with enough power to do some of the heavier recipes such as bread dough. I didn't know what I was missing. The capabilities of this machine have saved me untold hours and labor. I purchased mine with the dough hook and whisking attachments. It does bread dough perfectly and my holiday baking is done in record time. There are so many attachments available for making pasta, forcemeats, grinding, that you can just get rid of all the other appliances you used...

I hesitated buying Kitchenaid Mixer, wondering if it was worth the price.  I wondered if I would use it enough to make up for the price.  The answer is yes, it was well worth it.  I use my Kitchenaid nearly everyday.  It makes fantastic bread dough, makes cake batters, pie crust, even mixes meatballs so you don't have to get your hands it the meat.  If your hesitating like I was, I say go for it.  The hardest part about buying a Kitchenaid mixer is deciding which color to choose.  And Kichenaid makes great attachments for the mixer which makes it even more useful!

The Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer is a great product!!!  It is a little pricey...well alot pricey but it is well worth it in the long run.  This product is a good investment if you are a baker.  When Christmas time rolls around I am always asked to bake cookies and this little beauty has helped me out so much.  You can just add the ingredients and let it mix while you are doing something else.  No need to stand and hold the bowl and the mixer.  I have recommened this to family and friends and have not received one bad comment from anyone who has bought one.  This gets two thumbs up!!!

I got he 5 quart Kitchen aid mixer that is one step up from the Artisan.  The mixer does not tip back, you raise the bowl up. I do like this feature however it doesn't come with the flour sheild which I would like.  The biggest down fall is that  I find that this makes it harder to clean the actual mixer.    I love the extra power.   I was unsure if I should get the 4 or 5 quart but picked the 5 and have never regretted it.  I've had to make several cakes before and could do multiple batches of frosting at one time.

The KitchenAid Artisan Mixer is great. I got one when I got married last year, and I use it for pretty much everything. It's powerful, easy to clean, and it looks great and very professional on a countertop. Plus, it comes in like a zillion colors, so you can get what fits with you. The main downside I would say is that if it does not fit right onto your countertop, it will pretty much be a waste to you, because you'll never want to lift it out of a cabinet or anywhere else over to your counter, because it's so dang heavy. Otherwise -- this is a fabulous cooking product!!

I recieved my Kitchen Aid my first year of marriage. I knew I would like having a mixer but at the time I didn't think I did enough in the kitchen to need one as big as the Kinchen Aid. Wow, was I wrong. Since Christmas '04 I have used my mixer nearly everyday. I am able to make homeade food much more often and very easily. It's a huge help when getting ready for parties or the holidays. It's runs nearly all day on Thanksgiving. No matter what I've thrown at it, no matter how many cups of flour I pour in, it doesn't stop. My kitchen would not be the same without it.

I received my KA mixer as a Christmas gift in 2006  and at first was slightly concerned with the price that I thought was spent. Not only was my mom able to get a great deal through Kitchen Aid's sales, but i have not stopped using my mixer! It sits on my counter permanently and gets used at least 2-3 times a week. I can turn it on and walk away and let it do all the work for me. I'm a cake decorator and this thing comes in handy for royal icing and all my batter mixing.

I am handicapped but still love to make homemade things. This mixer has enabled me to do just that. I can no longer knead doughs and mix things by hand. i was amazed at all this mixer can do. Best gift i have ever recieved. i would recommend this product to all.  The spill gaurd enables to mix on high speed without flour flying everywhere. Great clean up. Washes up well without alot of scrubbing.
