Cute and reliable tea kettle

4

During the winter months, I love to drink lots of tea. My old tea kettle wasn't working for me anymore so my sister bought me this KitchenAid 2Qt Porcelain Tea Kettle for my birthday. Not only does it work perfectly, but I love the way it looks so much that I leave it sitting on my stovetop all the time. This tea kettle boils water quickly and when it's done there is a very loud whistle that I can hear no matter where I am at in our house. I have used this tea kettle for both bagged tea and loose tea, as well making soup when I'm in a hurry. The best part about this tea kettle is the silicone handle. It allows me to pick up the kettle without burning myself and it makes pouring the boiling water so much easier. Water pours evenly without any issues. Clean up is simple, I typically just rinse with water and soap about once a week. I would recommend this KitchenAid Tea Kettle to anyone who frequently boils water for everything from tea to soup and wants a functional product that also looks nice.

Makes great tea

My husband is an avid tea drinker. I recently bought this tea kettle for him because he was making his tea in a sauce pan. He absolutley loves this tea kettle. It is a beautiful blue color and is made of porcelain. It looks really classy in my kitchen. I love to hear the whistle it gives out to let you know that the water is boiling. The handle fits comfortably in your hand when you go to pout the water into your cup. The lid slips on and off easily. This kettle is very inexpensive and it is very easy to clean. It heats water easily and has a flap that helps prevent splashes when pouring, thus avoiding the danger of burns. It is very easy to clean. There are really no bad points that I can think of on this tea kettle. Of course, its function is fairly straight forward and simple. It heats water quickly and efficiently and looks really nice when not in use! If you are in need of a tea kettle, I highly recommend this one. It works perfectly.

Cute but ouch

Well, its okay and it serves it purpose. I like making green tea and those little flavored teas that you can buy so I got this tea kettle because i needed one. I like it, it's cute, cute design and shape and everything, and it DOES heat up your water like it's supposed to. The first time I used it, I put the water in it and put it on the stove and left it. When it was done I came back and when I went to pick it up it was really really hot! I almost burned my hand, and that is not fun. So I always make sure to bring a pot holder with me to the oven from now on so that doesn't happen to me again! Other than that one little problem it is an okay tea kettle, it works fine. It heats water, and it works exactly the way it is supposed to. No leaks or defects or anything like that. If you buy this just remember that you can't really pick it up without a pot holder. You will burn your hand, so please don't do that!

don't buy it!

I really love all kitchen-aid products but this one is the probably the worst one they have. We love to have tea all the time and use an electric kettle to boil the water. The electric kettles are a bit pricey and we always have guests over so it is never enough, so we decided to give this tea kettle a try. It doesn't cost alot and looks great so we bought and I just don't like it at all. It boils the water quick but there is a weird smell coming from the water and it gets so rusty inside. It is very hard to keep it clean and you keep burning yourself after the water is boiled when you touch the handle. I don't recommend this to anyone you are better off paying more money for electric water boiler and it will be alot easier and better to use! Safety you will burn yourself when using this. Not safe at all! Ease of Cleaning It is very hard to clean this kettle! It gets rusty inside and the outside is hard to keep clean. It looks bad after just the first use. Design I like the design but that's the only thing I like in this product.

KitchenAid 2 Qt. Porcelain Tea Kettle is Great!

I really like my Kitchen Aid two quart porcelain tea kettle! It heats water very quickly and when it is ready, it has a whistle feature which tells you the water is at a boil. It also has a comfortable silicone grip on the handle so you do not burn yourself when you pick it up. It pours very easily without dripping which is very important to me since my elderly Mother uses it every morning to make her green tea. It seems to be very durable. It also comes in several different colors of porcelain enamel which is great because you can pick the color which complements your kitchen the best! The best feature of this tea kettle is the one year hassle free replacement warranty if you need it; however, I doubt you will. After that, it has a lifetime limited warranty which guarantees no defects in materials and workmanship. I believe when a company stands behind it's product, it tells me it is very well made.

Good but leaks

A tea pot is a tea pot and I've had a million over the years. I got his one because it was on sale and because I liked the style of how it looked. Basically they are all the same but this one for me at least isn't the best and slightly annoying because when it gets hot and makes the noise that it is done it starts leaking water out of the spout and all over the stove. Not sure why, I don't see any cracks. Maybe it is a defective one or maybe they all do it...I'm not really sure. Other then that it makes hot water just like any other. I did notice it builds up some nasty stuff on the bottom pretty quickly on the inside which could just be the minerals we have in our water but it has to be cleaned pretty often compared to others I have had. But it is a good price and looks nice. But if they all do leak I would recommend spending the money on a different brand or a different model. But his one does serve it's purpose.

Standard Tea Kettle

The KitchenAid Porcelain Tea Kettle is a pretty standard tea kettle. On the outside, it looks pretty nice and comes in a variety of colors. The size is good for most purposes - 2 quarts is pretty standard size. A slight issue that I may have with this tea kettle is that I find that it is pretty heavy, so when you are cleaning it, you have to turn it over completely, which may be difficult for some people because of the weight. It works perfectly for my needs. The whistle on the tea kettle works. The water pours out fine. There hasn't been any damages to it so far. If you are looking for a colorful tea kettle to match your kitchen for someone who likes particular colors, then this might be a good tea kettle for you. It looks pretty and it works as it is described so far. Overall, I have not had any problems with this tea kettle, although there is nothing spectacular about it either.

Good tea kettle

I think that this a very durable tea kettle and what attracted me to buying first was that it was made of porcelain. I think that it looks very nice in the kitchen and would look timeless, which is great for people like me, who like to keep things forever. There is plenty of room for water in there and you can serve quite a lot of people tea with a full kettle. I like that it whistles when it's boiling so you can hear it when you're in the other room. I think the "whistle" is a must for tea kettles so forgetful people don't burn their house down. The handle has a rubber grip on it, which I was glad to see at first, but when I actually tried to pick up the hot kettle, I still burned myself. That is because the whole handle doesn't have a grip on it and part of it on the side is still metal. If they were going to put a grip on there, why couldn't they just commit and cover the whole thing with rubber?

Looks great, works great, but beware of getting it too hot

I loved this teapot. Note the word "loved" because I unfortunately had to return it. It looks great if you want to leave it out on your stove top and it boils water fairly quickly and whistles when the water is boiling. We had ours for about a year and loved it, but one day I don't know what happened. Used it as normal and once it whistled I pushed open the pourer and the plastic/silicone on it had melted!! Thankfully I wasn't burned too bad but it definitely was not a fun experience. I was sad to have to return it and get a different one because I do not like the style of my new one nearly as much. But you definitely do not want to worry about having plastic burned to your skin when you are using it. Performance Boils water fairly quickly and whistles every time. Safety Somehow the plastic/silicone coating on the spout handle melted. Ease of Cleaning Not sure if you are supposed to, but I washed mine in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. Durability Plastic coating on spout melted. Everything else was extremely durable. Design Loved how it looked. Comes in a few different colors.
