Kitchen Nightmares Review Summary

After Hell's Kitchen became such a huge hit on Fox, Chef Gordon Ramsay branched out to another reality cooking show Kitchen Nightmares.  The show centers around Chef Ramsay as he goes to restaurants that are in despair and uses his unique "charm" to help them get back into business.  Although Ramsay's personality can easily be seen as rude and crass, fans say "Gordon Ramsay is a riot, intelligent, funny and honest."  Many reviewers were not interested in Kitchen Nightmares at first, but almost all of them admit that they got hooked after the first episode.  "I love the fact that they let Gordon Ramsay come into their establishment and then they get mad when he shows why things are so bad."  Reality Lovers put this show high on their must-watch list, however they warn that you should keep kids away.

Great entertainment... but if there one show that should be on cable or later in prime time.

The language is a little to much for kids to watch. I can't blame the Boss for always being so mad, you would be too if these so called chiefs kept screwing up your kitchen.

Gordon Ramsey is the tough, harsh gourmet chef from "Hell's Kitchen".  He now has another reality show that showcases not only his talents as a cook, but his heart for helping others.  This show revolves around Ramsey traveling to different restaurants that are struggling to survive.  Most have their owners in so much debt that this is their last hope.  I love when Ramsey first arrives and samples the food, because the menu is never up to the level of his palette.  Many restaurants are sinking because they have no customers or their staff does not get along.  There are restaurants of all... review »

I wasn't excited to watch Kitchen Nightmares when my husband first turned it on, but I was hooked pretty quickly!  Gordon Ramsey is great to watch, and I appreciate his ability to be brutally honest with people.  And these people need it!  It is unbelievable how clueless some people are, and their lack of business know-how, lack of cooking ability, and lack of common sense will keep you glued to the TV.  Gordon Ramsey takes these people (even the ones with serious attitude problems who think they are doing everything right!) and turns their restaurants around!  It's a really fun show, and... review »

Hells Kitchen is my favorite cooking show. I love the fact that the show keeps me wanting to watch it. Chef Ramsy knows what he is doing. Some may say that he is so hard on the contestants but I would say he needs to be. Ramsy has been doing what they just started doing probably for years now. They are being taught by the best so they should expect anything to come their way. I like the fact that he gives everyone a chance to prove themselves. I have never seen him so favoritism to anyone on the shows. I love watching to see the contestants improve week after week. I also love looking at the food....

It has been awhile since I saw the show - I always try to watch each contest. The earlier shows had lots of swearing - I think the swearing has been toned down somewhat - it is unattractive, but a part of the personalities on this reality series. I have learned so much from these contests - my eyes have been opened to the fantastic world of the professional chef. The show is a great service to the industry and Chef Ramsey's passion and concern for each contestant is evident. Each contestant has to be something special to even make it on the show. And each of their stories is interesting.

Great...

Gordon Ramsey is so amazing at being a chef and teacher. Kitchen Nightmares is a great tv show. He only wants the best from these people. He is trying to teach them how a big resturant would be if they were the head chefs.

Gordon is funny, witty and has a naughty mouth. He can be very charming. I would highly recommend this tv program just for the fun of it.

I think the most funniest moment in the show came when a woman got up from her place and took a plate back to Gordon himself. He looks at her and basically tells her to go jump in a lake. Ok well I cleaned up the language for this review....

I wasn't sure if I would like this show. The first espisode not only got me interested but got me hooked. Gordon Ramsey is a love me or hate me type of character. I really admire him for being totally real and honest. I am quite like him in many ways which is probably why I like the show. He goes to restaurants which are failing in hopes of turing around their establishment with his help. He doesn't pull any punches and is quite blunt and to the point. He is meticulous when it comes to cleanliness, preparation of food, the staff and overall presentation of a business. He completely turns around... review »

Kitchen Nightmares - Now this is a hilarious show!  My husband and I sit down each week or record it just so that we can sit and laugh at the way people react to Chef Ramsey's suggestions and criticism. Its great entertainment!

The last episode we watched, the restaurant manager acted as if he was the owner of the restaurant rather than an employee. The owner/chef was a really quiet man and it was good to see that he took Chef Ramsey's suggestions and took control of the restaurant and put the manager in his place.

It was also great to see that they revisited the restaurant a couple of...

When I saw the preview for the show, I thought "how rude, I wouldn't watch that". Well, once you start watching, you just can't help but stay tuned. It's like driving by an accident. You don't want to look, but you are compelled to see the whole gory scene. This chef is just the most short-tempered person you've ever seen. He throws things, calls people names, and just makes a complete fool of himself. I laugh through almost the entire episode because of his antics. And the contestants do a ton of their own fighting and bickering too. If you haven't been in a good cat fight lately, I highly recommend... review »

When I heard about this new show, I could not wait.  Seeing him in a different environment from Hell's Kitchen is absolutely fabulous.  Yes I could see that it would be very hard to work for him but considering his experience, I would take his advice and stick to it.  It is also an eye opener as to how some people operate their kitchens.  I have watched the reruns over and over again.  I also watch Ramsey's Nightmares on the BBC which is the same show except the restaurants are in the U.K. and beyond.  It amazes me how after one service he knows exactly what is wrong and how to fix it.

I love Gordon Ramsey in Kitchen Nightmares.  I've been watching for several seasons now and actually have my husband hooked on it too.  Most of these restaurant owners are so deep in debt and without any business that this is their last hope but it's interesting to see how many of them actually reject Gordon's changes.  He has so many successful restaurants but they want to continue doing things their own way.  There's usually lots of yelling and swearing but in the end he always manages to turn the restaurant around.

I simply do not watch the standard TV programs, I am a pretty die-hard HGTV watcher, as there is basically nothing else on television that interests me besides the weather.  My husband started watching Kitchen Nightmares last week, and it was a very good show.  It is realistic, entertaining, and bold.  Nothing beats the truth!  Gordon Ramsay is a riot, intelligent, funny and honest, and I think that most appreciate his honesty......and he has a big heart!

Gordon Ramsey is awesome in Kitchen Nightmares!  I find it very interesting that there are so many restaurants out there with people who don't know what they are doing.  It is almost unbelievable!  It is great to have Gordon here to fix these restaurants and get these people going on the right track.  I also like his brutal honesty and ability to handle any situation. I hope Gordon will keep serving up more exciting episodes.

OMG I love this show.  I can not believe how people who own resturants can not see the things that are shown on this show.  How can any one let the litchen get so nasty.  I love the fact that they let Gordon Ramsey come into their establishment and then they get mad when he shows why things are so bad.  I think this show is awsome.  I love to watch it all the time.

Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares is brilliant.  Gordon lays it all out on the table.  His no-nonsense style is smart and gets the job done.  I wish we could get away with, on tv, what the Brits do.  He really knows his food, and how to best serve customers.  A real restauranteur, not to mention great on tv.  I love watching this show.
