It makes life easier when you want omelet's but you are lazy

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

For just $10, my husband made an impulse buy and purchased this Omelet Maker at Walgreens.  We like omelets, but rarely are able to get them just right which is why I usually make scrambled eggs.  This omelet maker was a great purchase!

How it worksIt's very easy to make an omelet with this. Start by heating up the omelet maker.  Next, mix your eggs with whatever you want in them.  Then pour the mixture into the two sides of the omelet maker, close it, and walk away.  I can't say how long it takes because we really just check it every few minutes to see.  When it appears to be ready, you can stick a fork into it to see if it's cooked, and it easily scoops out of the maker and onto your plate.

On the plus sideThis makes omelets that are perfectly cooked on all sides without you having to do much work.  It is so easy even a child could do it!  You can mix in whatever you want as you can see in the picture I added in some veggie sausage.  You can leave it alone and go do other things while it cooks.  It comes out tasting pretty good and your mix-ins are evenly mixed throughout.

On the down sideEach side of the maker can only hold about 2 eggs, so you can really only make 2 small omelets with this which may not be enough for everyone.  While they taste pretty good, they don't taste as good as the ones you really make from scratch and instead taste almost like a microwaved egg.  This isn't bad for someone who wants a break from cooking, but it's still not as good a s a home-cooked omelet.  Finally, it's hard to tell if it's cooked all the way through.  Last time my husbands was done but mine was still wet in the middle because I had more mix-ins.  I've learned from this that I should only cook the same thing on both sides OR test each side with a fork before taking out of the pan.

This is worth it because for just a few dollars we can easily have omelets even when we are lazy.  I have a real obsession with perfect omelets so I rarely make them from scratch due to how long it takes me to make it perfect!  It satisfies my omelet mood but isn't necessarily the best way to make an omelet.  If you have a busy life, you should like this just as we did because it definitely is easier than making one from scratch.  Enjoy!!
