All baby and infant formula brands that are sold in the United States must meet the minimum nutritional requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (the 'Infant Formula Act') and FDA regulations. Kirkland brand is a blend of properties from Similac and Enfamil. If your baby takes to it, you're in luck, because it is half the price of Similac and Enfamil. If you need a name brand, then waste your money on the others.
My husband and I are suddenly faced with raising our grandson who is now almost 9mos old. I was worried he wouldn't like the change as he had a sensitive tummy in the beginning and while we were helping to care for him from the time he was born we've had to try several different formulas. He has been eating this for 3 months and after the first few bottles loved it! He's not experienced the tummy problems of before and his constipation vanished!
It does foam up more than the Similac we tried, but it doesn't stink as much as Similac. If the foam bothers you, simply add one drop of baby anti-gas medicine (simethicone) to the water before you add the formula. No foam, no bubbles! At Costco's price, you can't beat this deal! You get two for almost the price of one of the name brand formulas.
I would love to see Costco/Kirkland offer more variety in the future.
