I have chronic sinus and allergy issues. My allergist told me to take Mucinex. I was shocked to see the price tag on this over the counter medication. I was able to find an off-brand (after using a bottle or two of the name brand) for much less money with the same active ingredients (Guaifenesin). In my opinion Mucus Relief works just as well and at much less cost. I know there are different varieties, but I use the basic off brand to help with my sinus congestion. It helps thin the mucus and causes a productive cough (gross, I know) and cuts the time I suffer from congestion, pressure, and other symptoms, in half. My only negative that must be mentioned, and should come with a warning to reflect just how bad it is....is the taste!! It is awful. Make sure you have juice to drink immediately after placing this pill in your mouth. You do not want to give it any time to dissolve. The taste is terrible. Just a warning!! Despite this, I recommend it as an alternative to the pricier name brand.
