Kirkland Signature Infant Formula with Iron Review Summary

Are you a Costco shopper looking for an inexpensive baby formula? Parents tell us that “for half the cost,” Kirkland’s Signature Infant Formula with Iron is “nearly identical to Enfamil Lipil,” with the “only differences being in support of the nutrition of the infant.” But do the babies like it? In the words of their parents “Our little guy has been doing great on this formula,” and “we had no problems transitioning.” As long as you don’t mind a little extra mixing time since Kirkland’s Infant Formula is “a little clumpy,” try it out and you may just be saving a ton of money on your infant formula purchases.

We switched from Similac Advance after 1 month of bottle feeding, and noticed a significant change in stools.  The Similac was much softer and seedy, whereas the Cosco's Kirkland formula was uniform and much harder.  This was accompanied by strain and crying during bowel movements.  All of these are... review »

I'd been supplementing with Enfamil Lipil since my son's birth, and four months down the line I figured I'd try the Kirkland formula instead and save a little money.  Bad idea.  It's much more powdery than the Enfamil, making it prone to caking and clumping during measuring and mixing.  It creates... review »

I've been using Kirkland signature Infant formula for my baby for the last 5 months(she is 6 months old now). My baby loves it.I love it because it is very affordable, it costs $19.99 for 2 cans of 1 lbs 9 oz each.Great price and great quality. I've tried leading brands like Enfimil, Nestle, Similac and I did not see any difference, except the fact that it is very expensive.I also hated that Enfimil does not dissolve easily. Kirkland brand infant formula is great-very affordable, dissolves quickly and the baby loves it.Moms prefer great quality for less money. It is a great buy!

WITH MY FIRST I USED ALL THE OTHER FORMULA BRANDS LIKE ENFAMIL AND SIMILAC. I USED TO ALSO BUY THE EXPENSIVE DIAPERS AND WIPES UNTIL I FOUND THE KIRKLAND SIGNATIRE LINE OF DIAPERS AND WIPES. I HONESTLY CAN SAY I LIKE THEM BETTER THAN THE LEADING BRAND NAME DIAPERS AND WIPES. WITH MY SECOND I REALIZED THAT KIRKLAND MADE FORMULA ALSO. SO I SAID IT MUST BE ANOTHER GREAT PRODUCT AND GAVE IT A TRY. I AM A LIFETIME CUSTOMER FOR THE FORMULA, DIAPERS, AND WIPES. PLUS I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY OF THEM. IN FACT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE DIAPERS ABSORB MORE AND DONT CAUSE DIAPER RASH, THE WIPES CLEAN... review »

Kirkland Signature Formula is just as good as other formulas for a huge different in price! Much cheaper that is. I used mostly Enfamil formula in the beginning and when I switched to Kirkland, my baby didn't notice any difference. The ingrediants and label percentages are exactly the same as Enfail formula. Buy this at Bj's wholesale club and you get a much bigger container than anything else that is available for much cheaper. This was almost $20.00 cheaper! The powder is a bit thicker than Enfamil so just shake it up good. Not really an issue though.

My Daughter was 2 months early so in the beginning we had to go with a very expensive formula for preemies..but once she was able to switch to a regular formula we started on the Kirklands brand. I was very worried how she would do with the switch and the new formula but she did great! I consulted the pediatrican and even brought in the can with me and he stated "It was almost exactly the same as Similac and Enfamil and in some areas better". Once we started on the Kirklands brand she began gaining more weight and has continue to grow and develop great. She went from not even on the chart to the... review »

I love this formula! I used it for my first daughter and I'm using it again for my second. I started off buying the expensive name brand formula with my first baby but quickly switched to Kirkland brand when I saw the price deference. I was nervous at first to switch but my daughter had no problems with it at all. Her doctor never had a problem with it either. I'm a stay at home mom so I'm always looking for ways to save. You get TWO 1lb 9.7oz cans for just under 20 bucks! Can't beat that, not even at Wal Mart or Target!

Kirkland Formula
Pros:
Costs less than half of name brands
No odor
No taste difference(or so it seemed)
No clumps
3 month old daughter had no problem getting used to new formula: no gas or constipation and
her poop was similar to when she was excusively breast fed

Cons:
Very bubbly-like a cup of cappuccino!

Overall I prefer Kirkland formula to Nestle Good Start, Similar and definitely Enfamil

Kirkland Signature Formula has been great for our daughter. It is slightly more clumpy in the powder form, but it mixes perfectly. My daughters doc told me it is made by a former major formula company, and he said it was perfectly fine for her. She transitioned to it perfectly from breast feeding, and has less spit up on it than she did on Similac or Enfamil.

We switched my son from Enfamil Lipil to the Kirkland formula when he was about 6 months old. My son had no problems transitioning and my checkbook was much happier! If you compare the labels the products are identical! For 2 cans for the price of one you can't beat it! I would highly recommend this formula if your family is on a budget!

My experience with Kirkland's Infant Formula from Costco:

When my daughter was first born, I was a name-brand mom. I bought the expensive diapers, toys, wipes and formula. I had this thought in my head that if it cost more, it must be better than the store brand. After all, the more you pay the pore you get. Well this is just not true. I was at Costco one day and saw that you could get 2 large (1 lb 9.7 oz) cans of powder infant formula for about $15 LESS than what I was paying for the name brand one. I decided I would give it a try, and I am so glad I did. Kirkland's brand is very much the same...

I switched from the name brand formulas to the Kirkland Signature Infant Formula with Iron found at Costco for my just turned one-year-old.  The price was obviously one of the main reasons for making the switch.  I can get two cans of formula for the price of one.  Infant formulas are regulated by the government, so you can rest assured that the ingredients in the Kirkland Signature brand from Costco are the same ingredients that are in the name brand formulas.  I found that my baby had no idea that it was a different formula.  When making bottles, it shakes up nicely and there are no chunks...

We were devoted fans of Enfamil Lipil for years.  It is all my daughter ever used and we were using it with our son until a few months ago.  Then we saw this brand.  This is nearly identical to Enfamil Lipil.  However, it is nearly 1/2 the cost.  So we made the switch.  Our son didn't bat an eye and we can't tell any difference once it is mixed.  The formula is a little more yellow than Enfamil, which was a little odd.  And it is a little clumpy, so mixing is a little more difficult.  But for half the cost, it's worth the little extra effort we have to take to mix it up.  And now we... review »

when i had each of my children the hospital sent me home with a few days supply of the normal high priced brands, so i kept them on these thinking they were the best for the kids.  after a few weeks eachof my kids was gassy and crying often i switched my oldest around to a few different brands after finding no releif i was low in cash and decided to try the kirkland brand of formula- it is two large cans for the price of one of the more expensive brands.  my kids ( i switched my second child sooner and went right to the kirkland instead of testing a lot of different ones) both showed imporvements... review »

I couldn't believe how much it cost for formula.  When my hubby and I saw the Kirkland brand in Costco, we figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try.  Compared the ingredients to the name brands and they were almost identical.  Talked to our son's doctor and he said the Kirkland formula is fine. And it is literally half the price of the Enfamil.  Our little guy has been doing great on this formula and it saved us a TON of money.  Thanks Costco!!  Now we can spend that extra money on diapers :-)
