This gel is OK, but I have hard water and this means that it's tough to clean dishes with the average dishwashing product. If you have medium to soft water, this is a good pruduct but if you have hard water, look for their powder-packett product. That's formulated for HARD WATER & is MUCH better! Kirkland makes those for less than the name brands and they are better.

I purchase Kirkland Automatic Dishwasher Detergent in an effort to save money on a daily chore. This product works fine if you have your dishes completely cleaned off, however, as a busy mom and someone trying to conserve water, I prefer not to have to prewash my dishes before they go in the dishwasher. It doesn't leave a bad or overpowering scent, which I appreciate.  But it did leave a film on our glasses and absolutely did not get the dishes clean.  It is really frustrating.  The first time that I tried the product we had an old dishwasher and I blamed it on the machine not working up to par anymore.  Once we had the dishwasher replace, I thought I would give Kirkland brand Automatic Dishwasher Detergent another try.  I appreciate the value, so was hoping for better results.  However, it was the same again.  Leaving food on the plates and bowls.  It does not have any scrubing power and can not get stuck on food off.  Now, I do not put bowls in the dishwasher that are clearly stuck with food that has hardened.  I soak those dishes before putting them in the washer.  This is just food that is not stuck on or very small bits of oatmeal that it is not capable of washing off.
