After years of standing firmly against buying a Kirby(got the demos for free carpet shampooing), I succumbed to the sales pitch and bought.

 The machine does do an excellent job of cleaning. But I have a home that has rooms on different levels and the Kirby is HEAVY!!! I can carry it from one room to another but what a pain! My last vacs were Thermaxes and I had one on one loor and one on another so I didn't have to tote them. We added to our house and now I have 3 levels and doubt that I will find a new Kirby at a yard sale as I did my 2nd Thermax so I have to have my hubby haul them from one...

I have had this Kirby Vacuum since the 1980's and it still works very well.

It has disposable bags,  a tray to empty for dirt that does not go into the bag
