I have owned a used Kirby G3 for over 8 years and absolutely Love It! After comparing all kinds of vacuums from canisters (Rainbow, Tri star, Filter Queen), to other uprights (Deparment store models, Dirt Devil, etc), and central vacuums. In the end I chose Kirby, and have never had a problem. It was too pricey for me to buy new, so I bought used. I would agree that at first it was a little tricky to change the powerhead, but I quickly got used to all the attachments. I was willing to get used to switching back and forth, knowing I wasn't sacrificing performance. After hearing so many stories of cheaply made models, and some pricey central units in homes having no suction, I feel my Kirby at less than $55 per year, has been a wise investment. So much so that I have just purchased a used Kirby Ultimate Diamond G ( I like the upgades they've made) and again at a bargin. I am looking forward to many more years of great perfomance. Hope my story helps.
