I got to see this movie on the recommendaton of another; One of my friends of Facebook talked about watching this and I not knowing about it, looked it up and found it interesting, and decided to check it out when I couid which I did two weekends ago. About a young fellow(Joel Edgerton) who suddenly inherits the family shoe business upon his father's passing. Once in the job, he findsĀ rows and rows of shoes that should be leaving the factory and decides to check out what the deal is which is that the nice little comfy shoes that his family has been putting out for over a century, has been trumped for a more cheaper foreign model. Not knowing what to do, he runs into a woman being chased by a group of men; He being a gentleman, goes after them and gets knocked out by a shoe by the very person he protects. After coming to in the persons dressing room, he comes to find out that she is really a he; A female impersonator named Lola(played oh so well by Chitewel Ejiofor) wanting to help, he decides to make a shoe that would fit her foot well while performing. His initial attempts are not the greatest, but he eventually hires Lola to design some shoes to get ready for an upcoming shoe fair in Milan. Of course, this doesn't go well with some folks, namely the employess of the factory that has made the fine sensible shoes, or the young mans girlfriend who wants to turn that little factory into some nice sensible condos(as well as big profits!! for her) but still Charlie when he gets down a bit, he'll go out think, reflect as any sensible man and go for gold. In time, the employees fall in line and it's a go for Charlie, his assistant, and Lola. Worth the watch, worth your time and effort and sure not to disapoint.
