Kingsdown Body System Mattress —

my husband and i purchased a kingsdown elegant pillow top mattress & box springs with our wedding money in july.  it is the best purchase either of us have ever made!!  every night when we get into bed we say "aaaahh, the kingsdown!!"  when shopping at mattress giant the salesman did not try to push us to buy this mattress, we sat on it and fell in love.  it was quite pricey for the king size, but due to the horrible economy and slow sales he knocked $1000 off the price of the bed, making it much more affordable.  not to mention we got the bed frame and a really nice mattress pad thrown in for free (you need to have a really good, water resistant mattress pad bc the warranty is voided if the mattress is stained or soiled).  i had never heard of a kingsdown before the day we purchased it.  after going home and reading all of the horrible review on the interent i was worried and almost cancelled our order.  but i am so glad i did not!!  a lot of the reviews i have read say that the mattress sags after a few months.  ours is not sagging yet and it has been about 4 months.  it is very soft and squishy though.  but isnt that what you fell in love with when you sat on it at the store?  if you dont want a mattress that you sink into, why the heck would you buy a kingsdown pillow top?  also i have had no problems with sheets fitting the bed.  we registered for sheets from bed bath and beyond.  now they were nautica sheets and quite expensive, but i think a lot of sheets are made to fit really deep mattress these days.  i doubt you could go to walmart and buy a set of sheets there and expect them to fit.  but linens and things is going out of business, so that would be a great place to grab a nice set for cheaper.  all in all, dont let the horrible reviews scare you away, we love, love, love our kingsdown elegant pillow top mattress!

We’d appreciate your help...we have to change mattress due to spinal surgery.
We tried different KING SIZE mattresses. They failed- post use professional inspection within 3-5 months use. All king size, 2” pillow top, non motion transfer like Kingsdown-VIVALDI AND PENACHE. Simmons-DISCO/WYNDANCE.
Undoubtedly they are extremely comfortable. ..but after initial getting into them, all of them sag / retain body impressions / no recovery or do not return back to level and leave a permanent middle hump or crown.…like sleeping in a soft canoe…flips you over if you don’t align body in the canoe.
Question-does that happen to only king size in that category / class?..Or due to pillow top?... what’s the cure / fix OR alternate solution for another mattress… OR suggest a site, tel to get some info…they are prepared to honour warrantee and replace...but we have to suggest the right mattress.
As opposed to those mattresses, our old queen size, Simmons-BEAUTY COMFORT, ultrafirm, duraflex, interweaved coils mattress, lasted 10 yrs and is still going strong, unchanged but too firm for post surgery patient.
Thanks. Al e.mail- alvcarmulo@hotmail.com
