King George Hotel - San Francisco, CA —

This hotel is in a great location, right near Union Square with many shops, restaurants and parking garages nearby. The room was clean, comfortable and very small. The bathroom was absolutely bitty..a larger person would have been unable to get into it and get the door closed. There was a rather large window in the bath which left no real room for the mirror over the sink, so putting on make-up in the bathroom was tough, and the room did not have great lighting either. There was no modern heat/ac, just an older radiator type heater, which I was a bit afraid of. The closet was roomy and the bed comfy. The walls were thin enough to hear everyone in the halls and other rooms. The only ice was on the main floor, at the back of the bar/restaurant area. But the price was significantly less than most other hotels in the area, so I guess you get what you pay for! I would probably go back there again if I needed to stay close to Union Square.

The good thing about those thin walls is that every now and then the people next door will be saying something really interesting (or having outrageous sex).

Sounds like a hit-or-miss kind of place. Thanks for the insight!
