My family and I went camping and Crocs and Croc like shoes were on most every man, woman and child at the campground. My kids started asking why they didn't have a pair and if when we got home, could I buy them some. I wasn't too sure if my kids would actually wear these types of shoes even though they said they wanted them. I didn't want to pay the price for real Crocs and have them not wear them. On a trip to Wal-Mart, we found Kids' Rayne Marbled EVA Clogs for the very inexpensive price of $5.00. What a great deal!
About the Clogs...
These buoyant EVA constructed clogs are lightweight and have a perforated upper that allows for ventilation. There is a swivel sling-back, so that the shoes can also be worn as a slip on.
What we think about these clogs...
My seven-year-old son chose a multi-colored red, white and blue pair and my ten-year-old son chose a simple black pair. They tried them on and insisted they would wear them. I was a little skeptic because they normally will only wear sneakers. I can't even get them to wear sandals. I bought them each a pair and we brought them along with us on our next camping trip. Sure enough, they both wore their clogs almost the entire trip. We camped on a river where the water was very shallow. My boys wore their clogs in the river while they were catching crayfish and exploring and they didn't slip on the rocks hardly at all. They even went tubing with these shoes on and the sling-backs held the shoes in place. There was one instance where my youngest son got his foot stuck on a rock and one of his clogs came off. Luckily, these clogs float! We were able to easily recover the shoe without a problem. I like the idea of the air holes on the upper part of the shoe for ventilation but these holes do allow for a lot of dirt to get inside the shoes resulting in very dirty feet! The shoes are easy to clean but the feet, not so much! Be aware that these aren't the best shoes for your child to wear when they ride their bike. My son got one of the sling-backs stuck in his wheel somehow and broke the sling. Thankfully, they were only $5 so it wasn't a big deal to buy a new pair.
My Final Viewpoint...
These Kids' Rayne Marbled EVA Clogs from Wal-Mart are a great deal at only $5 a pair. They come in an array of colors suitable for boys or girls and are even available in adult sizes. Even though these aren't expensive or a brand name, they are still quite functional and comfortable. I recommend these clogs and I am giving them a 4 star rating.
