Baby Einstein Lights and Melodies Mirror is great for in the car

3

This mirror was a great buy. My son HATES being in the car with burning passion. We had previously purchased a carseat toy bar hoping to entertain him during car rides, it only entertains him for brief periods. So I saw this in store and decided to give it a try. It came all put together and even had batteries already!! My son was crying as I was getting this ready and the second I hung it on the seat he stopped. He was laughing and cooing at himself, and I haven't even turned on the lights or the music yet! So things only got better when I put on the lights, the colors were very bright and easy to see even when it's dark out. The music is very soft and nice to listen to, it doesn't annoy me to have it on in the car. I also light that the time limits are longer then most, you can leave it on for up to an hour. It's an extremely simple toy, that goes a long way. I would recommend this to any family who's on the go a  lot or who's kid doesn't like being in the car.

My Baby LOVED the Baby Einstein Lights & Melodies Mirror!

4

This was a gift at the baby shower of our first son.  I was rather upset that it didn't fit with our car (you could hang it up, but my baby couldn't see his reflection in it) and thought that I wouldn't get to use it.  After he turned about 4 months old, I got it out again and he LOVED playing with it. He looked in the mirror at himself for extended periods of time and loved to laugh at his reflection.   He also enjoyed the bright flashing lights and the music. As far as toys go, this was one I enjoyed also.  I would often put my face in the mirror as well and we would "make faces" at each other.  The music never got on my nerves at all, which is not something I can say for most toys out there.   And I loved to watch him watch himself!  I woud definitely recommend this to any parent of an infant that is around 3-4 months old.  A younger infant might enjoy it also.  It is a great buy and most babies are really going to enjoy "tummy time" with a toy like this! The reason I gave in only 4 starts was because it didn't work in my car and because it was awfully loud, even on the low volume setting.

Pretty Nice toy

My youngest daughter received this the other day as one of her Christmas presents. She is 5 months old. I think this is a great toy that will allow her to view the lights and play with during the car rides to and from daycare as well as when we are out and about. My older daughter who is 18 months seemed to enjoy it as well and tried taking it away from her! It plays a nice melody and seems to have different functions. I also like that it has a timer which can be useful. I haven't quite figured out how to correctly attach it when the seat is rearfacing to my backseat but I still need to fully read the manual that came with it. The complaints I seem to have about it is this morning it was still dark out and I almost thought I was getting pulled over when I went to switch lanes and looked behind me and saw the blue light flash on it! Another small complaint is I do have is that I wish it has a switch to turn on and off instead of a button because I'm sure the batteries ran halfway down when trying ot bring it home because it kept getting pushed and the mirror kept turning on and playing music.

This is an essential for the first child

While I only have one child right now, sitting in the car in the back seat while I drive anywhere from the grocery store to a shopping mall- the back seat can get pretty boring. Along with being entertaining on the drive, it also makes it great for first children who are infants, because their car seats are rear facing so they do feel very much alone back there. This mirror allows them to see themselves which is always one of the most interesting things looking at babies faces. As well as the music and lights that accompany this mirror, it plays many classical pieces interspersed with colors in English, French and Spanish, this mirror begins teaching babies colors in the three languages by showing them the colors in corresponding lights on the caterpillar's body. THe only bad thing about the lights is that the purple and red lights are both red light bulbs- so in the dark the lights appear the same color, the same with the blue and green lights- they are both blue lights- the cover doesn't actually change the color that the light appears.

Versatile and Fun

Our baby loves this mirror and we are so glad we registered for it.  At 6 months old, our daughter has been using this mirror for quite some time and just loves it.  We use it primarily at home right now, and have the setting on lights and music (as opposed to just lights, just music or color identification).  For tummy time, this is a life saver as it provides a place to look, engaging colors and sounds, flashing lights and a mirror for the baby to see herself as she is laying on her tummy.  She can reach for the little bird hanging on the mirror as well, which I love as it gives the toy a 3D aspect the child can play with as well as look at.  I absolutely love that it has several volume settings and that it has a timer.  I can set the thing and walk away knowing it will not stop playing as soon as a song is done.  It will go as short as 5 minutes or as long as an hour.  I know this will soon move to the car and provide a lot of entertainment there as well!
