I searched high and low for a bed rail that would work on a bed with no box springs. Our son's new twin bed has wood slats under the matress so most bed rails wouldn't work. I found a few others where the reviews claimed they worked without a box springs but they complained that they couldn't be folded down and were too short. They were also not very attractive with the mesh and bright white or blue. The KidCo bed rail is AWESOME! It comes in with a natural, unstained finish. You can stain it or leave it. We left it and it looks great with my son's honey colored wood bed. This bed rail is the longest and tallest that I could find and leaves just enough room for my son to climb into his twin bed and the foot of the bed. It was relatively easy to put together; it took me about 20 minutes while also entertaining my 5 month old. Not only does it look great and work on a slat bed but it also can be easily removed and put back on! You can remove the rail while leaving the other piece under the bed. This is great for changing the sheets or if you need to use the bed for other overnight guests. I am going to recommend this bed rail to all my mommy friends!
