Kibbles and Bits Brushing Bites: Ingredients Negate Good Points

By

from Houston, TX

Comments about Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites:

Dogs have no way to clean their teeth without some human assistance. I know some who actually brush their dog’s teeth, but this isn’t a big hit with dogs and it often doesn’t work as planned. A better option is to find a dog food or treat that helps with the task and one option is Kibbles and Bits Brushing Bites.

Kibbles and Bits Brushing Bites are so- named because the bites have a texture that is supposedly able to scrape the teeth and the product has special ingredients to freshen breath. From my experience with this dog food, I didn’t see much difference at all as far as scraping goes and I think my dogs usual foods would do just as well in this department. This claim seems a little exaggerated so don’t buy this product expecting your dogs teeth to suddenly look white and bright.

As for the fresh breath claim, the product works decently well in this area. Doggie breath is often a problem, but this dog food does make breath a little more bearable and the difference is noticeable. Dogs also like the taste of this dog food and they eat it up quickly, but one fact dog owners will not like with this dog food is the ingredients. They are low in quality and contain far too much corn- based products and meat by- products.

Dogs do have teeth cleaning issues and bad breath and Kibbles and Bits Brushing Bites is at least good at taking care of one of these problems. Dogs like the flavor, too, but when you look at the ingredient list and other concerns, this is a below average product all the way and not one I can recommend.

Quality of Ingredients
The ingredients used to make this food are very low in quality and this is reason enough not to purchase this dog food.

Flavor Selection
Dogs seem to love the taste, similar to the way kids love the taste of candy.

Max says Kibbles and Bites is his only choice to eat

By

from Rock Island, TN

Comments about Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites:

Max says Kibbles and Bites has a great taste and wholesome, quality ingredients to provide a nutritionally balanced meal for his K9 companions. I have tried most all of dog foods and Max won't eat any of them but Kibbles and Bites. He eats the white ones first and then the orange and then the rest. I think he feels those two colors are treats for him. He is six years old now and has favored this brand the whole time. I worried he would get tired of it but he is still going for it. It has the nutrition he needs and to keep him active. I feel it keeps his teeth and body as healthy as possible as well. Kibbles and Bites is well worth the price I pay for it and you won't be disappointed with your pet not eating it. I haven't seen a dog yet that turnes its nose to it.

This information is crucial in the right choice for your pet. This is from the label from Kibbles and Bites Original my dog's favorite:

**Kibbles 'n Bits® Original** has 100% complete and balanced nutrition. Protein for growth and strong musclesCarbohydrates for energyFat for energy, healthy skin and coatFiber for healthy digestive systemVitamin A for bright eyes and good visionVitamin D for growthCalcium for strong bones and teethZinc for a healthy immune systemPlus other essential nutrients

My dog will eat through the bag to get at this food!

By

from Marion, OH

Comments about Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites:

We first bought **Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites** because it was a clearance item at a local store. I really didn't have a reason to worry about our dogs teeth, just can't resist a good sale!

We bought a small bag because that is what was on sale. Brought it home, sat the bag in the utility room and planned on using it when the other food ran out. When I got home from work that evening I let the dogs outside to do their business. When they came back in I poured them their usual bowl of food and went to do chores. When I came back a half-hour later to pick up their bowl, it was still full! The pups were both asleep in their beds, so I just assumed that they were not interested. As I went to load the washer, I disconvered that they had opened the bag of **Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites** and eaten their fill! If you have bought this product, you know how hard the bag is to get open for humans. My dogs had actually ripped open the side of the bag enough to get to the dog food!

I have to say that they have made it very clear that they enjoy this dog food. I have bought this brand for several months now, by THEIR choice! I never have any food left in their bowl anymore. They eat everything that I give them each day and want more. I have learned to set the bag where they cannot get to it as the **Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites** will dry out if the bag is open.

My Boston Terrier furchildren and I all recommend **Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites!**

It's like a dentist giving a child a lolly pop

By

from West Mifflin, PA

Comments about Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites:

Kibbles and Bits is known for horrible dog food and this formula is no different.  I don't know how a bag full of carbohydrates and corn syrup is supposed to clean a dogs teeth.  It's like brushing your teeth with pure sugar and following up with cotton candy. This food is nothing but corn, soy, sugar, cancer-causing preservatives, and food coloring.  I wouldn't give this to a dog I hated.Ingredients:  corn, soybean meal, ground wheat flour, beef and bone meal, animal fat (bha used as a preservative), corn syrup, wheat middlings, water sufficient for processing, animal digest (source of roasted chicken flavor), propylene glycol, hydrochloric acid, salt, sodium tripolyphosphate, caramel color, potassium chloride, vegetable blend (peas, carrots and green beans), sorbic acid (used as a preservative), titanium dioxide, sodium bisulfate, sodium carbonate, minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, manganous oxide, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, sodium selenite), vitamins (vitamin E supplement, vitamin A supplement, niacin supplement, D-calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement ), choline chloride, calcium sulfate, red 40, yellow 5, BHA (used as a preservative), blue 1, yellow 6, dl methionine.

Comments about Kibbles & Bits Brushing Bites:

My dog is very finicky.  He actually thinks he is a person and should only eat people food.  He does however love Kibbles and Bits Brushing Bites.  Not only does he eat it, he actually looks forward to dinner time.  Thanks...
