Kia Optima 2005 Review Summary

The 2005 Kia Optima is noted as being a reliable and safe vehicle for anyone looking for a mid-size car for individual use or family use. The Kia Optima has plenty of room in both the front and back seats for extra passengers, which reviewers have noted that the seats are very comfortable. One reviewer summed this vehicle up as saying that the Kia Optima 2005 model is just “a bland car” that doesn’t “inspire” him. While not marketed to be a sports car, the ’05 Kia Optima functions well as a family car. Want to see how the 2006 Kia Optima compares?

I am completely and utterly impressed with this car.  She is absolutely amazing, practical, perfect size, quiet when your on your phone, many people don't realize I am even driving.  Extremely reliable, not high maintainence at all.  Any person needing a reliable car this is the car for you.

2005 Kia Optima LX V6: Good Price, Bland Car

On a recent business trip, I had a two-day rental of a 2005 Kia Optima LX and it was an okay car for a rental, although it's probably not what I'd buy for my own purposes. Bottom line: Buy only if the price is right

I've owned our 05 Kia Optima since it was about 6 months old.  I got a great deal on it since they do depreciate fast in the first year.  After than however they depreciate slower than other cars. (Just FYI)

Anyway, for only $13k, we got a V6 engine, leather, sunroof, Infinity sound system and many other options.  The car is very quite and smooth to drive.  On the highway you can easily carry a conversation with the passangers without raising your voice at all.  All of the little things (like the wood-grained steering wheel, nice sound system, auto-dimming rear view mirror, etc) add up in... read full review »

The 2005 Kia Optima LX (V6 Engine) is a great car for the money. Honestly, my wife and I had never heard of the optima before we test drove it, but let me tell you that for the price range we were looking in we felt it was absolutely the best car, and we still like it now, more than a year after purchasing it. We have had a couple of minor problems with it, but the warranty is great (10 years, 100,000 miles) and has covered everything! We have driven it quite a bit, and recently took it on a 1600 mile trip. I calculated the gas mileage for that trip at 28.75mpg which I think is pretty good for... read full review »

My wife and I are the owner's of a 2005 Kia Optima EX (4cyl). We got the luxury package on the 4 cylinder edition, because we wanted to be conservative with our gas mileage. This car was purchased brand new and we got an excellent deal on it. (Over 7,000 off the sticker price). The car runs great; however, one qualm I have with KIA is that they are very strict on their requirements for keeping your warranty valid.

My brother is a mechanic and looked over their service schedule. He informed me that the services they require are usually far too frequent and way overpriced. This is the main downfall...

It's relatively maintenance free - other than having to replace the headlights twice I haven't had any maintenance issues in 26,750 miles that I've been driving it. I especially like the 5 speed transmission. The only thing that could be improved on is the FM radio and speakers - typical manufacturer's quality and nothing special
