Kenmore Washing Machine —

My husband and I were in our forties when we bought our first house and needed a first washer and dryer to go with it.  (I always thought that I would be considered a successful grownup once I owned my own washer and dryer and didn't have to go to a laundromat anymore.  I was right.)

My Mom's Kenmore washer lasted for about 15 years, so we figured that was the way to go.  (I grew up in a family of six.)  Frank and I went to the local Sears "scratch and dent" outlet, looked around, and bought a Kenmore washer and dryer for a very reasonable price.  The scratch didn't matter...we figured nobody would be photographing the laundry room in the basement any time soon.

The guys who delivered our appliances had to take the bannisters off to get them down the stairs, but they did so cheerfully, then put them back on again.  The appliances fit perfectly.  We both breathed a sigh of relief.

That was five years ago, and I couldn't be happier with the Kenmore washer (and dryer, for that matter.)  The washer and dryer always work.  They always work well.  They work well on curtains and comforters, too.  My husband is a neat freak and my son an athlete and between the two of them these babies get a workout.  I'd say we do 7-10 loads of laundry a week.  The Kenmore is as dependable as the sunrise. I've been in marriages that didn't last as long or work as well.

Kenmore worked for Mom, and it works for us.
