Kenmore Washer and Dryer Review Summary

"Kenmore – built to be yours for life!" If ever there were ever a great advertisement for Kenmore washers and dryers, it's that many of the reviewers here report having only used Kenmore for a number of years, and report them lasting twenty to thirty years. They're still just as happy with the replacements, not seeing a letdown at all in quality over the years. Sears own electronics brand is also being used by those that are new to the product line and are reporting them to be "very affordable and efficient," even "for a college student." Perhaps the best ad for Kenmore washers and dryers should be the following tagline, "always dependable." Check out Kenmore's other appliances as well.

We purchased a Kenmore Elite Oasis Canyon Capacity Washer in 2007 when they were first inroduced to the market.  It was supposed to be energy efficient: save on water, electricity and time.  We hadn't had it very long, approximately 4 months, when the tub inside came loose and the control panel went...

The Taylor household likes to use an appliance until it dies. Our twenty-five year old Kenmore dryer has been dying for a couple of years and in January, it seemed to be ready to go to the appliance junkyard in the sky. So we bought another Kenmore dryer from Sears. The old dryer took longer to dry clothes, and it made ungodly noises which made me wonder if it was possessed. The new dryer dries clothes quicker, and it is noise-free. The knobs are different, but it is easy to learn. The only complaint is the door is hard to open probably because of its newness. This brand has always worked for us,...

Fantastic washer until your rear bearing goes out.  $700 to fix, so most repair people say get a new one.  My service tech saw 3 this month on the Kenmore Elites.    I own all Kenmore appliances, but not anymore.  What a crap design on the rear bearing, the entire tub mechanism needs to come out with approx 300-400 in parts.  I can fix a lot of things and it tees me off I have to buy a new washer after 4 years.

well, my Sears dryer is two years old and I have had problems for a month. First it made rust marks on my white clothes. The first guy did not fix it. I had to buy the extended warranty to make it cost effective for me. The second guy replaced the problem, but then broke something else so that it does not work. How do I know this? Because the THIRD guy to come out told me. And guess what? After one cycle it is doing the same thing. So here I am, at ten at night being told by the service center sorry but they can't help me. My advice? Go somewhere else.

I have used a Kenmore Washer and Dryer for 40 years.  I will use nothing else.  They are a great machine.  I had one for 20yrs before going to a newer model and the old one still worked.  Gave the old one to my neighbor.  Repairs are few on this brand.  Not much wears out on them.   My daughter just got a set.   You can't go wrong.

My 20 year old dryer finally bit the dust and I decided to reduce my carbon footprint and not replace it.  After a month of drying laundry on every available pillar and post in my basement, I finally decided to check out dryers on the Internet.

I've never owned a Kenmore appliance, but my sister is a dedicated customer and all her appliances are either Kenmores or other brands purchased from Sears.  After checking out several websites I decided to go with Sears because in addition to carrying other name brand products they also had the Kenmore brand.  I liked he idea that I could shop for features...

WE have recently moved into a new home. I was in need of a new washer and dryer. We went straight to Sears and bought their "Oasis" washer and dryer combo. My daughter loved them so much that she did the same thing for their new home. We love them !!!!!!!!!

I bought a Kenmore front load tumble action washer 9 years ago.  Just recently it made a terrible sound during the spin cycle and would not cut off on its own.  I had a repairman come look at it and he said to buy a new washer - the bearing broke and it costs more to fix it than it costs to buy a new washer.  He said I got a lot more life out of this washer than most people get - he said most only last 5 years or so.  It's a common problem for the bearing to break on these washers - he said because people overload them.  There was still space to fit more clothing in my washer, so it was... review »

I purchased a Sears 600 Series clothes dryer about 6 months ago.  After about 2 months, it started rattling/vibrating which got worse and worse.  It even rattled with no clothes in it at all.  Since it was under warrantee, Sears sent a repair man to fix it.  He replaced the two rubber wheels that the drum rides on which had worn to where they were "out of round".  After that, it ran as quiet as can be - for a few weeks.  After a few weeks, we noticed it getting louder and louder again.  Now, about two to three months after the last repair, it's just as bad as ever.  There is obviously... review »

I inherited a Kenmore dryer when my widowed mother re-married in 1995.  Both she and her new husband had households of furniture and appliances and both owned Kenmores.

I had a Sears repairman out to look at other Kenmore appliances I owned, for maintenance.  He looked at my dryer too even though I told him it was in perfect working order.  He said this dryer was a 1978 model and that made it 30 years old.  It needed no new parts, just a minor cleaning.  All appliances should last this long.

From now on, I will always look for Kenmore appliances first, they are greaaaat!!!!

My parents always used Kenmore and I have continued with them.  I recently purchased my second new set.  I had the first set for over 17 years.  My first Kenmore set was passed to me by my parents.  They had used it for 15 years and then I used it for another 5 years.  I purchased my first new set and it got a lot of use over the 17 years I had it.  When it came time to purchase a new set I looked at other products but with the knowledge of how long they last and the amount I would pay I chose to stay with Kenmore.

My wife and I purchased our Kenmore washer and dryer in april 2008 and they still look and work as good as the day they were delivered. We have not experienced any of the problems our previous washer and dryer had within a year, problems with the knobs and buttons on the washer, and the door on the dryer. We have never been happier with an appliance purchase.
