This washer was one of the first appliances my husband and I bought as a married couple. It was a dream for the first 10 months and then it began throwing up 5d error messages. It used to lock my clothes in the washer, stop mid cycle and always has a rancid smell!! I'm so discouraged with this machine. From a year on it was basically not usable. The Sears hotline wanted nothing to do with me, except buy a service plan for $300 dollars!? We finally figured out what was wrong with it through a complaint blog. Apparently the draining system can get clogged. It's an easy fix. You take the bottom panel off and then unscrew the drain cover and drain it! The instructions for this fix and all other error messages was taped to the back of the bottom panel. This bottom panel is screwed in, so there is really no way of finding it unless you explore.

I feel that Sears is corrupt, has horrible customer service and is selling prodcuts of subpar quality. Our next washer and dryer set will not be from Sears!

Yes, well we all can't be as carefull as you. This washer is not consumer friendly. If I wanted to be this observant with my laundry, i'd hand wash it, which is what i'll end up doing, because of this piece of junk.

That is why the service agreement is a good thing. Have had mine for 2 1/2 years and love it. They check it over once a year. Have had a penny get in the pump. Just check the pockets. Possible for very small kids clothing to get into edge. I would use one of those small garment bags for washing delicates - should work fine.
