Kenmore Washer - 500 —

I am impressed with this Sear Kenmore 500 Model 110.2952 washing machine!  On sale for $399.99, I couldn't find one any better or with as large a capacity. (3.5 cu ft)  I don't like the fact that the washer stops agitating when the lid is opened, but I guess that this is a child safety feature.

I love the way that a knob is used to select whether or not I want a second rinse.  On my old washer I had to remember to go push in the knob and turn it to 2nd rinse if I wanted one. *sigh*

It has 5 water level selections, 4 water temperature selections - hot, warm, cold or "tap cold" (whatever tap cold is! LOL)  It has a Heavy Duty Cycle, a Normal/Casual Cycle and a Delicate Cycle.  On the Heavy Duty Cycle it even has a cycle that washes for 16 minutes for heavily soiled clothes.  The washer also has bleach and fabric softener dispensers and the machine is rated 319 kWh energy use per year for low energy/utility consumption. (Average $33/year)

All in all, I am very pleased with this washing machine!

I absolutely agree! I bought this same washer nearly a year ago, after a severely unbalanced load killed my Kenmore. I LOVE being given a choice for a second rinse, and the "hand wash" cycle is perfect for washing sweaters (even a cashmere sweater came out just fine).
The ONLY thing I wish it had was a buzzer to let me know when a load is done (like my dryer).
