I would recommend the Kenmore Super Capacity Laundry Center to anyone looking for: reliability and durability at a fair cost. It certainly isn't pretty to look at like many of the newer front loading washer/dryers, but given that ours is hidden away in a large utility closet, I don't mind.
The Laundry Center combo has a 3.0 cu. ft. capacity washer tub and a 5.7 cu. ft. capacity dryer. This unit is pretty much 'commercial grade,' so it handles all of your laundry needs in one well-priced package. As noted above, the stacked design allows one to store the washer & dryer in smaller spaces, like closets (or bathrooms). There are 3 different washing cycles - Regular, Perma Press and Delicates - plus 2 other pre-cycles for power-wash jobs (a must for anyone with dogsJ). There are bleach and fabric softener dispensers in the washer (although I've never used those, so I can't comment on). There are 5 drying temperatures for different fabric types. I also love that there's a 'convenience hanger' that you can pull out from the upper left hand corner of the unit. The unit is really quite when shut away.
We've been using the unit for ~2 years now and we've not had any problems. For about $1,000, you can purchase your own Super Capacity Kenmore Laundry Center.
