Mom inherited a mountain house from her Mom. My Poppaw built it way back, so it's small and not up to modern speed. Washing and drying were done outside then, but that's just not so special now, so Mom got the Kenmore washer and dryer combo for the vacation house.

The Kenmore washer/dryer combo is heavy. It was set on the porch. Mom and I man handled it into the kitchen, so it did not get stolen. Stealing is a reality in the mountains  sad to say. Even with a dolly, that was quite a feat for two women not all that big. So, you get some guys and a dolly, and it's OK.

This washer and dryer stacked went in the corner of the kitchen in an area with a little wall to the side. Think of a closet but with no door. It fit, but it was close. That made it hard to hook up the plug and the dryer vent to blow the hot air out. That's a house issue though. The mountain men Mom got to come over and get this in the hole got it, but it was not so easy. The plug cord and the flexi vent stuff is short though, so do note that.

This is not a huge wash and dry unit. Well, duh. That's why we got it for the vacation house. It fit. That's the big thing. It's tall and slim and fits in the space.

We use this washer and dryer when we're up in the mountains. This is towels, sheets, thinner comforters, and nasty clothes from where the boys do playing in the creek. Never a big load. Just a few things now and then.

The Kenmore stack is perfect for what we need. It fits in a small space and cleans pretty well. We do spray major icky clothes like those that got in the creek and mud along with the boys kids. They (the clothes) come fairly clean - but not like a big, heavy duty washing machine.

The dryer is fine too. Takes a while to dry if overloaded. Small loads - no problems.

If you live in a small space and if you don't do lots of clothes all the time, this Kenmore is perfect. It's not meant to be the super duper washer and dryer combo for a huge family. It's nice for a single person, a couple or for vacation houses.

This covers our needs for sure. Great to have at the house. For really big items like super comforters or for really dirty boy clothes, I bag it and take them home where I have full sized washing and drying. Consider such special needs, but I'd say that all in all, this is a great unit.

Ditto here, we seemed to stay immune until the early 90's then it hit us too. ;(

Stealing was not much of a problem where my family comes from. Then, drugs set in. That made a huge difference sadly.

I was raised in the mountains and yep stealing even reached my old stompin grounds ;( Sounds like a great little set for tight places or light duty uses. ;)

I guess I figure that the small towns like in the mtns and such would not have that. Prob not so much. Still not a good idea to leave washer/dryer on porch until help can be rounded up. We girls got it in. Yay us.

Nice review. And stealing, sadly, is a fact of life everywhere....
