Kenmore Refrigerator Review

We purchased a Kenmore French Door refrigerator, Model # 78306, with bottom freezer. I was replacing a twenty one year old Knmore, and I have to say I was intrigued by the design, but a bit nervous about the bottom freezer. After reading lots of reviews online, I decided it was the fridge for me. I am so glad I did! This fridge is so roomy, and the bottom freezer is a breeze. There is a pull-out top shelf in it for the Ice bin and ice trays. I didn't want the icemaker, as we have had trouble over the years with them leaking and pouring water all over, ruining the downstair ceilings and walls. I will mess with ice-cube trays, not all that difficult.

What impressed me first was how bright and open the refrigerator is. Drawers are clear plastic so the veggies in them are viewable and less likely to be forgotten. Both of the crisper drawers are made with humidity controls, and they are very good at keeping the veggies fresh longer. The door shelves are all adjustable and accomodate a lot of bottles and jars. The bottom ones are big enough to put a gallon milk jug on. My husband goes thru a lot of Iced Green Tea he gets in gallon jugs, so they go on the door with ease. the glass shelves are all adjustable, too, and the top right on can be shortened to half  to make room for something super-tall on the shelf below.

The temperature controls are great! instead of the usual little dial with numbers 1 thru 5, (you have to try to remember or you guess which way is colder) it has a digital temperature control. You set it for the temperature you want. Simple. It also features a little "Beep, beep, beep" when you have had the door open too long. A nice reminder for people who love to stand in front of the fridge with the door open, hoping something good will suddenly appear in front of them.

This fridge is so quiet running, I was almost worried it wasn't running at all. This is great, as our old fridge used to make all sorts of strange noises, and I was never sure if I should be worried by them or not.

This fridge had a beautiful pebbled surface which makes it difficult to leave fingerprints. It hold magnets well (necessary for the kids' pictures and my shopping list) and it came in a nice beige which they call  "Biscuit".  It fits nicely into the space where our old fridge was, not too wide, which I was grateful about. I like a roomy refrigerator, but there is only so much room there.

I highly recommend this one. It is beautiful and funtional, it is Energy Star so it will cut down on the electric usage, and I am thrilled with it.
