After 4 years the icemaker in our fridge started making an irritating noise so loud you could hear it in the next room. We turned it off, but guess what? It kept on making the noise. We were stumped and went online to learn how to dismantle the entire thing. Now our house is quiet again, but we have no icemaker unless we call Sears to fix the darn thing. I don't think this is normal for a 4-year-old appliance, do you?
I might give Kenmore more credit but we've also had terrible problems with our washing machine (rusted in 3 years), our stove (broiler stopped working in 3 years) and our dishwasher (takes TWO HOURS and dishes aren't always clean).
Our house was a new model home when we bought it in 2004, in case you're wondering. The builder obviously went low-end on appliances. Buyer beware when it comes to Kenmore's less costly appliances!
The Bottom Line: Libby's Leery
