I purchased a Kenmore Elite Side by Side in July 2006.  The refrigerator is 2 years, 2 months and 8 days old. The interior right wall has micro cracks down the side. It is not because of cleaning process.  I use dishwashing soap and wash clothe.  I know it is a material defect for I have in my garage a 19 year old Whirlpool that does not have cracks anywhere in interior walls.  I contacted Sears to repair. They sent out an Epoxy kit to repair. Which will yellow after probably the warranty runs out.  I want my refrigerator to look new so I can sell it with my house.  Sears refuses to replace interior skin. Where is the quality?  What about backing and guaranteeing your product. I have been fighting Kenmore and Sears for 2 months now.  All I want is a product to last.   Disgusted and Dissappointed

I agree with the gentleman. I wonder how many other refrigerators are like this? If this is a known problem Sears should correct it and provide good customer will and trust. I purchase a Kenmore Elite Side by Side August 30 2007 and I am very happy with it. The only problem and Sears/Whirlpool know this is the Ice Maker. Don't use the Crushed Ice feature, because after some time the crushed Ice with freeze up on you and you will have to defrost the freezor. What a mess that creates. I did buy the extended warranty which I would encourage anyone to do that is purchasing an appliance, because you never know what can happen after the basic Warranty goes.
I love the Water filtration. What a difference it makes in the taste of the water and Ice. I only wish the dispensor was slightly larger /deeper for big glasses.
I wish you luck and hope your problem gets resolved. You might have to file a class action suit to get this going and see how many others this has happened too.

Oh my, I am sorry for the problems that you are experiencing with you Kenmore. Ours is just short of two years old so it is discouraging to hear that you have cracks. We all want quality in these types of investments. I will be watching hopefully that mine does not have these same defects. Good luck in your battle on replacement.
