I love my Kenmore Beltless Vacuum

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have had this vacuum for about 2 years now and the other day it started making a funny noise when my 5 yeard old son was vacuuming. I thought "Oh no! What did you suck up now?" So here I go, dreading the old turning the vacuum over to see what I find. Of course this memory is linked to all vacuums I have ever owned, but not my Kenmore! So I flip it over and...oh yeah, this vacuum doesn't have a belt. I forgot about that nice feature. And I couldn't see anything stuck anywhere. So I turn it on while it was upside down and the air pressure from the vacuum sent whatever is making that funny noise right out! I was pleasantly surprised that I did not have to tear this vacuum apart. I flipped th...

Probably the best vacuum I've used.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The reason I am so enamored of this vacuum is the fact that you KNOW when your carpet is the cleanest it can be.There are lights on the front where you can see them while vacuuming. Three of the lights progress from yellow to bright red as the carpet spot is dirtiest. When the light changes to green, you KNOW all dirt is up and your carpet is the cleanest it can be.I have 3 big dogs and this vacuum is a godsend as I can know for a fact that the areas I have gone over that were once shown by the red light is now nice green.Further there is another light that only comes on when your bag needs changing.Price is right also...about $250

this vacuum cleaner was a great disappointment

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

We bought this vacuum cleaner about three years ago, within 6 months it became very loud, the warranty just ended, the roller was out of balance and the on/off switch no longer works. It doesn't pick up even a piece of hair. We pain over 300.00 for this vacuum.

We only have two cats, and normal dirt on carpet; hair, dust, etc.

We then bought a upright hoover for 89.00 which stopped picking up after two yrs.

Lastly we bought a oreck, which only works good on our hardwood floors.

All vacuum cleaners have one thing in common, they are all now made in China or at least most of the parts are from China.

Worked great for 1 1/2 years, then the motor failed.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I bought the Kenmore Progessive vacuum about 1 1/2 years ago because Consumer Reports had rated it quite high.  I spent somewhere between $300 - $400.  It worked well for awhile.  Then the small step cleaning attachment stopped working within the first year.  Next,  the hose and tool attachments wouln't stay on.  Finally, last week I was vacuuming and noticed an electrical smell.  I continued to use the vacuum thinking it may be dust particles in the motor.  A week later, the motor began to sound sluggish and the electrical smell became worse.  My husband removed the front cover, turned on the vacuum and noticed sparks coming out of the engine.  Well,  that was the end of my vacuum.  I am very disappointed.  You would think spending that much money would at least get me 5 years of use.

The Kenmore Progressive vacuum reliably cleans thoroughly

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The Kenmore Progressive vacuum so far is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned.  This is in comparison to Dirt Devil, Hoover, and Eureka uprights.  I've had it over two years now and it still cleans just as well as it did when I first bought it.  It's never required any maintenance aside from removing hair from the main rotating brush.  It picks up most debris on the first pass and gives professional looking results.  I especially like the dirt sensor feature.

On the down side, it is a somewhat bulky machine, but the attachments allow reach into smaller spaces.  It is a little annoying to move the machine around while using the attachments because it is a somewhat heavy and bulky machine, but overall, I've been very pleased with it.  When the time comes to buy another vacuum, I would buy another Kenmore upright vacuum cleaner.  However, I would buy a bagless one, because not many stores carry bags for Kenmore upright vacuums.

This vacuum really SUCKS! In a good way of course.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased the Kenmore Progressive Vacuum Cleaner with Intelli-Clean system a little more than a year ago. I can't say enough good. The intelli-Clean system has a light that tells you when you have gotten all of the dirt in your carpet. When you start, it's yellow and when that area is clean it turns green. I never knew our carpets were so dirty. We have a dog and 5 cats so I am constantly battling cat hair. When using the hepa bag filter, we all breathe better with this vacuum. You can really see and smell the difference after using the Kenmore progressive vacuum. It was rated #1 by Consumer Reports above the Dyson and other expensive models. I certainly see why it was rated so high.

The only cons I can think of  is it's a little heavy. Also, the attachments don't always stay in place on the body but I can live with that.

Couldn't hate this vacuum cleaner more...

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I absolutely hate this vacuum cleaner, and am so sorry I spent the money!

First of all, it is so stinking heavy it's not even funny.  Both my 15 year old son and myself have both almost tripped trying to lug this thing up the stairs.  It is ridiculous.  Being an ex-Oreck owner, I miss my Oreck so much it's not even funny (unfortunately, I lost it to my husband in the divorce - and yes, we actually fought over the Oreck!).

Second, it does a terrible job adjusting to higher-pile rugs, versus medium, versus floors.  The switch does not work properly, and because it doesn't change correctly, I have times where the thing is impossible to move on a flat carpet.

Third -...

Kenmore vacuum does a good job

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I had a vacuum that I was never very happy with. It picked up the big pieces but I never felt that the suction was good enough to really clean my carpets. I bought this kenmore vacuum after doing research and seeing that it got good reviews and was in my price range. Once I got home, I vacuumed my floors with my old vacuum. Then I pulled out the new vacuum and went over the same floors to see how much more this kenmore would pick up. I was horrified by the amount of crud that this vacuum picked up. To think we'd been living with that left behind filth all these years. This vacuum does a great job. I especially like the long cord. My whole main floor is carpeted and it would be a pain to have to move the plug from room to room because it's not long enough to stretch.

We only buy Kenmore Vacuums!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We were given this vacuum from my in-laws and I can gladly say, it was one of the best presents from them I've ever got!! Unfortunately, our house flooded when it was only 2 years old, but we promptly went out and bought the latest model the store had without shopping around because these vacuums are wonderful!

It comes with a Hepa filter bag, which catches everything! At the time we had 1 toddler and 1 small baby, a Siberian Husky, and 4-5 cats so we have a lot of dust, and random food morsels laying around. This vacuum never disappoints. We have mostly hardwoods, but carpets, rugs and vinyl as well and it works fantastic on all of them with just a flip of a lever it goes between them. All the attachements fit securely right on the body of the vacuum so they are easily reached and put away. While it is a bit on the heavy side, the wheels work smoothly and it is very easy to navigate around furniture, toys, animals and stubborn toddlers!

The Best!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I've had my Kenmore Progressive Upright for 5 years, and it still works very well. It continues to suck up the dirt, and with the hepa filter, I feel as if the air is even cleaner. Prior to this purchase, I was buying cheaper vacuums that I'd have to replace every couple years. The great thing about this product, is that the price is pretty reasonable, (at least compared to a Kirby or a Dyson). I've very satisfied with the way it cleans, esp. since it has the Intelliclean feature, which I use every now and then. The only problem I had with it, was when I accidentally vacuum a nectarine seed hidden somewhere in the dark crevices behind the couch. (My daughter loves her stone fruits.) I didn't know that's the reason it stopped working until I took it to Sears to have it fixed under their warrantly plan. Speaking of which, Sears has been pretty good at fixing or replacing items for me when I bring them in - So I recommend getting the warranty plan, too.

Can't live without it.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Vacuuming is by far my favorite of the household chores.  I like that it does not take much work, and yet the result is so noticeable.  When I was looking to buy a vacuum I did a LOT of research about it ahead of time.  I went to the library and looked up a leading resource for customer reviews.  I wanted the best as vacuuming is my favorite chore.  At the top of the list (at the time) was the Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum #35922. I headed to the store to check it out.  I was pleasantly surprised that it was about half the cost of a leading competitor who's said to be the 'best'.  I loved what I saw when at the store, I love that it has the indicator l...

Great suction and performance!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We went through 5 vacuums from Costco in 5 years and I was DONE with repeatedly having to return the vacuum after a year because of some defective part or performance.  I researched long and hard and bought this Kenmore Progressive Vacuum due to it's high reviews.  It's superb performance has not let me down and I'm happy to say it's been running great for 3 years now!  The suction is fantastic and I appreciate how little dust it kicks up or pushes around when I use the Gentle Floors setting on my laminate floors.  The cord length seems perfect for our 1500+ square foot home as I only have to move the plug once.  It is easy to push along and even my 2 & 4 year old ar...

Better than my Hoover

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We bought a Hoover when we got married and used it until it died.  We thought we would save some money and buy an inexpensive vacuum, but quickly discovered you really do get what you pay for.  We decided to do some research and were surprised to discover this Kenmore rated very high on Consumer Reports.  We found it on sale, so we felt good about the purchase.  We have had it now for 2 years and still love it!  I have asthma and severe allergies, so a bagless model is not an option for me.  It is very well built and able to withstand my 3-year-old daughter who loves the vacuum, but ends up causing it to fall over when she tries to use it.  We are so happy with our decision to buy this vacuum.  We both still say "we love this vacuum" almost every time we use it.  It picks up cheerios really well!

Amazing and picks up everything-literally.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I got this as a christmas present (yes, I wanted a vaccuum cleaner for christmas) and I have loved every minute of having it! It's so easy to use, and it doesn't weigh too much so hauling it out just for a quick clean up is manageable.

For some reason I burned through a belt the first week of having it. It didn't cost much to buy a new one, and I haven't had any problems since then. This vaccuum literally picks up anything. In my kitchen I generally sweep everything into a huge pile, and  go and vaccuum it up. I'm usually being bothered by a 2 year old while I'm doing this and don't really pay attention to WHAT I'm sucking up with the hose. I've found crayons, and even a hotwheel in there when I go to empty it!

My last vaccuum was a hoover (which I still love, but it was my mom's from when us kids were growing up) and the cord on my Kenmore is signifigantly longer than the old Vaccuum's cord. It's a great vaccuum and I recommend it to anybody who has kids!

My Sears Kenmore Progressive Vacuum is just average.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

When we went to buy a vacuum, my husband and I had very differing qualities we were looking for.  He wanted power and quality.  I wanted lightweight, small, and quality.  Guess who won.  We brought home this behemoth from Sears and I almost immediately didn't like it.  I will say that it does a good job picking up, and I really like the retractable cord.  You just step on a little bar and the cord rolls itself back into the cleaner.  It also has a carept height setting or you can use it on bare floors.  But that is where the attraction for me ends.  This thing is heavy and clumsy.  I really don't like lugging it around, and it seems to take u...
