Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum Review

Is it possible that you bought a dud? I bought this model based on favorable reviews and, while it is heavy--weighing in at 20lbs--it cleans the floors very well. I'm concerned, though, about the fact that you need to use the attachments to clean the stairs b/c the motor shuts off when you place it back in the upright position.

I've had mine for about 6 years and always had wonderful results and no problems,except for the belt wearing out.You might try cleaning your beater-bar,you could be causing it to drag, with hair or string wrapped around it.
