My wife wanted a new vacuum and picked this out on her own. We both love it! It gets all the hard to reach places and the pet hair attachment works great on all our furnature. We live in the desert and this thing is able to pick up all the red sand that gets it.

This is a great vacuum. The Kenmore 23613 Progressive Powermate Bagged Canister vacuum is capable of picking up pet hair, sand from outside or the beach. It is hard to clean along walls and corners with an upright vacuum. With the Kenmore canister, it is a chore made easy. The canister is lightweight and easy to manuever down hallways and around corners. The added feature of the turbo brush is wonderful. It makes cleaning hard to reach areas on stairways and even in automobiles so much easier. The allergen bags hold an unbelievable amount of dirt, pet hair and other floor debris. I cleaned houses for aliving and this vacuum cleaned carpets, hardwood floors, tile and other styles of floors with equal ease. The allergen bags hold and contain floating debris better than many others on the market. Replacement of the bags is easy and quick. This is a great vacuum for a great price. I highly recommend this vacuum to family and friends with complete assurance of a quality item. Once again Kenmore has stood by its products with another great product.

I was a professional residential cleaner for 8 years so I have seen my fair share of vacuums, yet this is the one I have in my home and that is for a good reason. It's a great vacuum. First off, uprights are simply out of the question for me. They just do not offer the flexibility in cleaning that canister vacuums do. Want to vacuum out some empty drawers? How about the cobweb up in the corner ceiling? Under the bed? That 2 inch spot behind the couch? No problem at all with this bad boy; just switch the floor piece and you are good to go. The carpet floor piece has 4 different levels, so if you have shag carpet just put it on the high level and vacuum away with no fear of ruining the carpet. Switching out the vacuum bags is a cinch and they actually hold a lot; you can really get your moneys worth out of each one. The Hepa filter is great too at reducing allergens in your home. My reasoning to prefer this Kenmore model over some of the newer fancier versions is that there is less to break on this one. An extending pole just leads to a weak spot after a lot of use and I prefer something that can last many years without needing to get it serviced. It's up to you what features are important to you, but what it boils down to is that Kenmore makes an outstanding vacuum and I would highly recommend it to anyone. From a studio apartment to a mansion, this Kenmore will keep you clean.

We have been using a Kenmore Canister Vacuum for as long as I can remember. I inherited my from my mom when she bought a new Kenmore Canister Vacuum. I love this vacuum cleaner. It works great for carpet, bare floors, tight spots, hard to reach places, and with a variety of attachements, you can get your home very clean. It's great for quick clean ups and everyday messes as well as for deep cleaning. When I was growing up, we called mom's Kenmore Canister Vacuum the "dead pig" because it was heavy and a little awkward to drag around the house, but the newer models are lighter and can be pulled around corners more easily. I love that this vacuum cleans so well. I have a young baby who spends a lot of time on the floor and I don't worry about hum getting sick because I clean my house with this vacuum cleaner. Overall, I would say that this vacuum cleaner is worth the money and that it does a fantastic, "mom-approved" job!!

Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum is my ideal vacuum (ok it could operate itself but...).  I received this vacuum as a gift, but honestly I could not have picked a better vacuum cleaner.  The Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum cleans consistently, I have had mine for about 4 years now and it still works like new.  The   Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum is wonderful because being a canister vacuum it is lightweight for ease of cleaning.   The bags are easy to change and the filter easy to clean.   The Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum comes with several attachments to precise cleaning.  I use the attachments all the time getting into tight spaces.   Also, the Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum comes with an attachment for pet hair or any other stubborn mess - it has a rotating brush but smaller in size.  I also love that the Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum has height adjustment for different types / heights of carpets.   It, also, vacuums hardwood without the rotating brush.  Essentially this could be the one vacuum that will clean your whole house no matter what type of floors or messes you have!

I've used bagless for about 10 years now - several types - Eureka - Hoover, etc.  all uprights - This is the 1st cannister vac I've purchased - it was priced far less than most other vacs I'd previously purchased.  I was worried about the power and ease of use.  We have four dogs that constantly loose fur and a long hair tabby - not to mention my husband loosing his fur!  This is by far the BEST vac I've ever used.  We have mostly wood floors now - thanks to the pets and several area rugs and runners as their paws have no traction on the wood.  Anyway, this vac goes from one floor type to the other extremely well.  Just pull back on the switch on the handle to change from floor to carpet.  The beater bar can be taken on and off with your foot while the unit is still running - you don't even need to bend to put it back on the shaft just locks into place with a little push - standing upright!  -  The cord winds itself in the unit - no more wasting time winding and unwinding the cord!!  I thought I would not like using bags again because of the additional expense and mess - it turn out to be alot easier - the bad actually compacts the dirt tighter and I don't have to change near as often as I had to empty the badless with the dust floating around - this unit is also so light weither and easy to carry that I actually enjoy cleaning with it.  Has just the right amount of attachments to do the ceiling - fans - lights etc. REALLY WORTH THE MONEY!!

I like this vacuum cleaner because it is easy to manuever especially to vacuum stairs and under beds and sofas.  it picks up all the dust and particles and I like that it filters it so that the dust does not imminant from the vacuum as you are using it.  Overall, a good investment.

**I have had a Kenmore powermate canister vaccuum for many many years in the past and decided when I needed a new vaccuum I would try one of the trendy newer models with the fancy shmancy little perks. I wasnt thrilled with any of the newer models i purchased and wound up giving them to family members and when I went out to purchase the ** **Kenmore 23612 Progressive PowerMate Bagged Canister Vacuum I knew I came to my senses..this vaccuum does the impossible there is no running the vacuum over and over one area to pick up a thread or small particle it gets it right away and even picks up pet hair and doesnt put dust in the air..i watched as the sun came filtering through my blinds and generally you can see dust particles flying around in the sun beam like lil pixies or fairies in a dang hurry but not with this vacuum. There was minimal dust particles in the sun beam and my carpeting was looking new and imaculate in no time and my furniture wasnt covered in dust like previous vaccuums had caused. I love my new  **Kenmore 23612 Progressive PowerMate Bagged Canister Vacuum**  and so does my family that has allergies!**

I have had this vacuum for almost 6 years. I love it. It is starting to dye on me and when it does, I will purchase another Kenmore. The sound & functions are wonderful for going from carpet to wood & vice verse. The ease of using the canister is great on stairs & moving around the house. I don't think I will ever go with another vacuum.

I looked for months for just the "right" vacuum for our household - two working parents, three teenagers.  Canister, upright, I looked at everything.  Almost went with Dyson, then just couldn't pay that much for a vaccum... The Kenmore Progressive 23612 works so well I'll keep buying them.  I don't need a lot of fancy gadgets - just need my vacuum to work.  My kids use it - it is easy to use, simple but powerful, gets in corners well, good suction power.  We use it several times a week on carpet and hardwood. It has a switch to move when you are not on carpet, which makes it easy to use when going between hardwood and area rugs. Couldn't think of any cons - with 3 teenagers it can be treated roughly and it keeps working. I've had mine for over a year now, and could not be happier.
