Kenmore Microwave Ovens Review

Expensive Kenmore Elite microwave with all features. Plastic doors and handles are fragile. Never had any kind of appliance where the handles broke in 13 months and the whole door in 24 months. Replacing handle required taking door apart. I had a Sears repairman do it as I did not want to risk over tightening or any other error that would weaken the door itself. One year later the door broke right at the area where the new handle was installed. So much for the expertise of the repairman. Replacement door cost = $181. I am thinking about it. For now I grab the edges where the part of the door broke off to open. I think the seal is still intact. Sears parts does not offer a replacement door front - only the whole door. Someone else claims to offer the door front for around $90. Bottom line - beware  plastic doors on microwaves. They are not very robust.
