Sears Kenmore canister vac is a wonderful little machine!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My sister-in-law told me about this little canister vacuum cleaner and I then got one too.  This was, unbelievably, in the 1980s!  I still have this vacuum and it still works!  The only thing about it that ever broke was the retractor for the power cord.  This used to pull the entire cord inside the canister housing for storage at the push of a button.  It doesn't retract anymore, but it might just need a spring or something.  It was never worth it to me to pay to have such a minor thing repaired when the vacuum was so inexpensive to begin with, plus I'd had it for so long.  I just wind up the cord the way you do with any appliance that doesn't have a stora...

Good idea, bad execution

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I've always bought Kenmore or Electrolux canister vacuums, and I've never been disappointed with either.  I lost the last Kenmore to my ex in our divorce, so I bought this vacuum a few weeks ago.  There were two that had been returned and reconditioned, and were selling for $370, a bargain compared to the regular $599 price.  I guess the fact that two had been returned should have been my first clue, but I was really impressed with some of the innovation in this vacuum.  I loved the idea of the bare floor head snapping in and out of the carpet head, the swivel for easier access under and around furniture, and the new filter basket design that provides ...

I love my Kenmore Canister Vaccuum!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My Kenmore Canister Vaccuum is amazing.  It goes where I want, down the sides of furniture, underneath low-lying coffee tables, and everywhere a normal vaccuum could not.

I own two cats, one of which sheds tremendous amounts of fur.  This fur gets on the baseboards, on my furniture, under and behind everything.  I can't sit down without having fur come away with me.  My Kenmore Canister Vaccuum gets it up when I vaccuum, keeps it in the canister until I am ready to change the bag, and I'm done with it.

A lot of people seem to go for the bagless vaccuums - I think the bagless vaccuums are more hassle to clean.  The bags are not that hard to handle, and if you do it ...

Another super Kenmore Vacuum cleaner!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I recently purchased the Kenmore Intution, after owning Kenmore canister vacs my whole adult life. This one  is as good as ever and has so many new features to make cleaning simpler and easier than before. It has the usual on board attachments, a handy conversion for hard floors (love that!), a retractable cord and the bags are so easy to change. I have a long haired dog that sheads a lot and tracks in dirt, but this vac cleans up on both carpeted and hard floor surfaces. My old Kenmore vacs have held up so well that they end up in the garage, bring used to clean cars after I buy a new one for the house. Consumers Reports and I agree - Kenmore Canister vacs rule!

Great vacuum - when it's not broken. Which it frequently is.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Buyer beware! Great idea, poorly executed equals a terrible value given the price. Lots of quality problems that are simply unacceptable in a $500 machine. With light use, mine has broken three times in 15 months. The first time, it was replaced  under warranty due to the power cord continuously retracting (requiring me to tie a loose knot in the cord to use the machine) and the telescoping pole no longer holding at one length. It took less than a month for the new machine to develop the same problem of the continuously contracting cord, then a plastic clip holding the vacuum tubing to the machine snapped. That was repaired the week before the warranty ran out. A month la...

not what I expected

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I purchased the Kenmore Intuition vacuum from Sears about a year ago. I researched it before I bought so I felt pretty good about paying the price. When I first started using the vacuum I did not like it because of canister design. I was use to an upright. I figured over time I would learn to manage it a little better. That never happened. Over the course of a year I would just use one of my old uprights. I finally called Sears and ask if I could exchange it that I would even pay more for something different. I still had all my receipts and the box and it still looked brand new because I had rarely used it. They said NO it had been so long since I had bought it. The vacuum itself has pretty good suction it is design I do not like. I have beat my furniture up and have bumped my walls and scarred them so needless to say I will not be buying another one.

Kenmore is quality that lasts

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My family has long believed in the quality, reliability and durability of Kenmore products. My mother was a long time Sears employee so we have had many Kenmore products and have almost always been very satisfied with them. I do not think of Kenmore as an expensive brand so I was really surprised to see the price tag on this vacuum.  Then again, I put it in perspective: my mom had just bought this vacuum after FINALLY retiring the old Kenmore canister vacuum that she had had since at least 1978! Now that is quality.

In contrast, my husband and I have been married eight years and have gone through at least three vacuums. No other vacuum has been able to keep up with the dirt ...

The Best vacuum for the size

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This vacuum is a WONDERFUL vac for its size.  We have a dog and 2 cats and it does a great job on picking up the hair.  I love that I can remove the container that collects all the hair and stuff from the floor and just dump it in the garbage.  It is bright yellow in color which was another plus for me since my favorite color is yellow!  The long wand allows me to get high up in the corners and get all the cobwebs.  We have hard wood floors and the power in this canister allows me to get in the cracks of the floor to get everything.  I also cut my husband's hair and I get the vacuum out after and it cleans everything up nicely.  No more tracking hair all through the house!!  There are 3 attachments where I can vacuum up our furniture and get down deep in the couch.  The floor attachment allows me to vacuum up a bigger area and it takes less time.  I highly recommend this vacuum to everyone.

better than a robot vacuum cleaner

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The new Kenmore Intuition is its own robot vacuum cleaner. It tells you where its really dirty with a red light so you vacuum until it turns green, has a hepa filter to prevent dust from being spewed out as in other regular vacuum cleaner (no dust smell or allergies), runs very smoothly, is very quiet- you could vacuum around pets and babies and not scare them.

It also has a sleek, beautiful build- is not clunky although slightly heavy due to the heavy duty mechanism, able to efficiently do shag rugs like in my house, pick up 98% of the stuff on the floor, not get tangle-up accidents due to safety device that is much more sensitive, and is able to pick up and go with a push of a but...

MY KENMORE CANISTER VACUUM KEEPS MY WHOLE HOUSE CLEAN

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

In the course of 5 years I went through 5 upright vacuums, after each one either broke down after the year was up or just wasn't doing the job I needed it to do.  I decided to try a canister vacuum.  I went to Sears and was impressed with the Kenmore canister vacuums and decided to give it a try!  I bought one along with a 5 year warranty, this way if after a year the vacuum wasn't doing the job they would at least fix it or replace it.  Well, this has been the best vacuum I have ever owned!  I have a dog that sheds like crazy and live in an area where if you open your windows in the nice weather you will get a covering of dust in the house.  This vacuum makes m...

Great pickup power at a good price

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Picked out this light-weight canister vacuum cleaner at the local Sears store

a few months ago (Oct. 2009). Took only about ten minutes to assemble. The

power cord took a couple of days to learn the little quirks as far as the distance

the vacuum could travel. The power to clean a rug is very good, it picked up

every item that appeared to the eye.

Paid under $150 for this vacuum, so I wasn't expecting much, but it is turning

out to be the best vacuum I've ever owned. It's lightweight so the vacuum can

be easily lifted from room to room and is easy to store in the closet. The bag

was fairly easy to attach and unattach to the canister. Also the cleaning tools

are inside t...

I can't believe I switched to a canister vacuum cleaner.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I wanted to buy a quality vacuum cleaner after having a crappy, loud bagless Drit Devel for two years.  I still had my Panosonic upright but it was old (22 years) and not as powerful as it had been but still worked better than the Dirt Devel which broke after two years of light use.  I went to Sears after checking with Consumer Reports and learning that Kenmore was rated at the top.  I tried several brands of uprights then for some odd reason I tried the Sears Kenmore Intuition canister vacuum.  C.R. rated the canisters better at picking up pet hair, etc.  So after testing the Dyson and the different Kenmores, I finally decided that the Intuition canister vac was...

noisy & doesn't pick up dog hair well, the attraction for me.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I researched a variety of vacuum cleaners prior to this purchase, and was NOT thinking of another Kenmore cannister, but the reviews were so good, I finally acquiesced. I wanted a new vacuum that would pick up dog hair, and the reviews said this was the one.

Just as with my other Kenmore cannister, however, this one doesn't do corners well, it overturns easily, it is HEAVY and NOISY, and it picks up only what is in the line of the suction. When vacuuming floors, you have to run over every square inch of floor space to pick up everything -- there's no side suction at all. The carpet attachment is not as strong as I had hoped, so the dog hairs stay in the carpet.

Live and learn...though I don't know what else to do in terms of finding a vacuum cleaner that picks up all the dog hair!!!

Love the Vaccuum hate the price

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I just bought this Vaccuum less than a month ago..it is a Kenmore Intution from Sears and well I love the Vaccuum but I really didn't like the price tag.  It is very easy to use...I like canisters though...those of you who like uprights might not like the canister.  My 5 year old loves to use it as well.  I like that the power runs down to the actual cleaner.  My mom has a vaccuum that you use a battery to charge it for extra sucking power, the battery doesn't work well on hers.  I like this idea much better.  It has great sucking power and works well on carpet and hardwood, as well as tile.
