NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE!!! I am a home remodel company owner, interior designer and real estate investor who has purchased many many appliances from Sears for my other real estate holdings. This product however, was for my own home! i purchased this Kenmore Elite HE 5 dryer from my local Sears store and then set up delivery. Here's where the nightmare begins..Upon the delivery of this dryer the Sears drivers/installers we noticed door was bowed and not aligned properly. The Sears employees did a trial run on the appliance to see if it worked correctly. The door would not remain closed and kept popping open everytime they ran dryer and would turn itself off as a result of the bowed misaligned door. They then scheduled a delivery for another dryer. Drivers called Sears and Sears said it would be next week to get another one! Second time around drivers show up with dryer, and door is bowed and misaligned also, same problem as first with front loader door, and hinges. Third attempt now over 5 weeks in since initial dryer was purchased still have initial defective dryer remaining on property while trying to get replacement that does not have defective door and hinges, and to pick up the first one. Third attempt was 5 weeks later when they bring out dryer again with defective door bowed will not stay closed!!! The Sears employees state they were aware of the defects on this dryer, and they have picked up a ton of them with same problem I am having. They call in to get another delivery date and now I am told it will be over a month wait because the dryer in the color I ordered that matched the washer (already in place) was not in stock. (website however, showed differently).Month two comes along without a dryer and still original defective dryer not picked up yet, and every appointment made to deliver my matching dryer is cancelled by them. Called to complain repeatedly to Sears and got shuffled around over 50 x during this nightmare! I was told everything from I am sorry mam, but we do not carry that dryer anymore due to it being defective, and that I was out of luck to... Here's another good one...they stopped making it in that color. Meanwhile it was a brand new series dryer at that time, and was featured in their brochures while I was being told this!! Their solution offer me a $25.00 gift certificate for 60 days without a dryer at this point! NO DRYER STILL!! Now i go down to Sears store where purchased and he says He can not help me because he does not have the authority(He was the store manager)? I then call Sears corp. resolution to no avail. they say call baack store!! Called back store and have Sears employee who says she will help to rectify problem and offers me substantial discount now that it has been over 2 1/2 month of nightmare. I am infuriated at this point!!! Call back store the next day to speak with young lady who was going to rectify this and give me a substantial discount and get one delivered without damaged door, and was told she quit and never did what she ws supposed to. More phone calls are made to everyone who would listen. Now it's 3 months in...still no dryer, no refund, no help, nothing! I Go down to store and tell the "manager" come and pick up orignal dryer that does not work and pick up matching washer too. It does me no good to have a washer without a matching dryer and no dryer replacement in site. He says he wants to charge me a restocking fee for washer with no matched dryer and dryer that door does not stay closed or work properly!!! I am fuming! I then stand there in the store to announce exactly what has happened to me over 90+ days of this headache! I tell manager I will not pay a restocking fee for anything. this Kenmore Elite was purchased brand new...This was not a service call after years of ownership!! BRAND NEW DEFECTIVE!!! AT THIS POINT, I HAVE HAD IT WITH SEARS, THEIR MANAGERS, CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS, LOCAL STORES, CORP. HEADQUARTERS,ETC. after they got picked up b/c they could not give me a working dryer that I ordered and paid substantially for, they decided not to credit my Sears card for another 40+ days and could not get that right either!!! Battle number two!! THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE TOOK ALMOST 180 DAYS TO RECTIFY WITH THEM!!! THEY ARE AWARE OF THE DEFECTS AND I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT CARE!! READ ALL THE BLOGS ABOUT THIS DRYER AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THESE BRAND NEW DRYERS. i HAVE GIVEN THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN ANY GIVEN WEEK ALONE TO SEARS BECAUSE OF WHAT I DO OCCUPATIONALLY, AND THEY DID NOT GIVE ME ANYTHING BUT A HUGE NIGHTMARE!!!! I WENT TO HOME DEPOT, GAVE THEM THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF WEEKLY BUSINESS AND PURCHASES AND ORDERED THE LG FRONTLOADERS THAT WERE PERFECT!! NOW HOME DEPOT GETS ALL MY BUSINESS FOR EVERY HOME REMODEL I DO, AND EVERY APPLIANCE I PUT IN THEM! THIS KENMORE ELITE IS ANYTHING BUT!!!! THE PLASTIC HINGES ARE GARBAGE, DOOR WAS MISALIGNED AND BOWED!!! GARBAGE AT IT'S FINEST!! 180 DAYS AND THEY COULD NOT GET IT RIGHT!!! $25.00 GIFT CERTIFICATE DID NOT EVEN COVER MY TIME, PHONE CALLS, AGGRAVATION, ETC. AND NO DRYER FOR 180 DAYS!! AS A BUSINESS OWNER IT IS UNCONSCIONABLE THEY WAY THEY TREATED ME AND THERE LACK OF ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!! TO SHOW THIER SHEER INCOMPETENCE EVEN FURTHER THEY KEPT CALLING ME FOR 4 MONTHS AFTER RETURN OF ITEMS TO SCHEDULE PICK UP, SEND MAINTENANCE, AND NEW DELIVERY DATES?????? DO NOT BUY!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!
