Kenmore Elite Freezer - Chest —
We have a Kenmore Elite chest freezer that we purchased 16 months ago. After the indicator showed the temperature increasing over a weekend, I called the Sears service center on Monday, they said the soonest they could have someone out would be on the following Friday. That doesn't work very well with a freezer full of food. I called a local repairman and they were out the next day. They discovered the freezer is leaking coolant and it will probably not last too much longer. They re-charged it to buy me some time. What burns me the most is that we bought this freezer to replace one that we bought at an auction and was close to 35 years old. A 1-year warranty on a freezer is worthless and is a testament to the quality of appliances that are being manufactured today. The next freezer I buy will not be from Sears but from a local company that takes care of me in a timely manner.
