Kenmore Elite Electric Dryer - HE 4 Review

The Kenmore Elite (HE4) is quite a monster in terms of home-use (I was able to dry clothes in literally 15 minutes) but the load amount is minimal. It seems like the more you add, the less you really get. I tried putting 12 towels in there, and even after half an hour they were pretty wet. Unfortunately, most people interested in a dryer of this capacity are family homes with more than 'once-a-week' laundry days.

 Fortunately for Kenmore, it will sell and have no financial heartache towards this model, but one thing I've found from this company is that most of their quality assurance goes into the sleek look and stamina of the product, NOT exactly the quality. Again: good product, but a bit reprehensive when attempting to do a lot of laundry at once.

 On thing I would have to say about this specific model is that the power cord has been known to malfunction for no apparent reason. Most of the washer/dryer combos include this with their warranty, but be cautious when reveiwing a warranty for this model, it may not be included.

 The situation that occured (and brought the onset of this dilema) was the fact that I had bought 5 washers and 5 dryers. They both worked fine when i tested them, so i kept one set and sent the other 4 to an appartment structure I handle. Within a week i was getting calls from the renters, stating mostly that the dryer wasn't keeping up with the dryer.

So again, the most important aspect that I can decline a 5-star on this model is that the damn thing just takes forever on big loads. I have since returned the dryers and have been on the lookout for a few different models that are a bit more industrial. Unfrotunately, Kenmore has a strict "personal use" policy that applies to most of their models, ergo, I am having a hard time figuring out whether or not I will buy through them again (aka: Sears)

On the flip-side, these machines last forever, but with the economy the way it is, there is no way I can take a financial cut in the middle, has to be almost dead on.
