So much space

I have always been a huge fan of gas ranges and have had everything from electric to induction. What I love about the Kenmore Elite is the versatility it offers. I can fit such a wide variety of pots and pans on the burners. There is plenty of cooking space. This is where every other stovetop has been lacking. There's too much wasted space on most ranges. The white color does have a nice classic look, but of course shows stains quite easily. With two small children, I should have chosen a different color. That's on me though. :-) The other issue with having small kids is that the knobs are within easy reach. I wish there was a way to put them on the top of the unit, but I'm not sure if that would be too difficult to reach over the range. The convection oven is perfect for even heating and fast cooking. It has allowed me to basically ignore my microwave oven! The heating element provides consistent heat throughout the oven rather than more on top or bottom. It seems to have cut down on my overall cooking time as well.

Not very impressed

This stove and oven came with the house we purchased and lets just say that if they had taken it with them I wouldn't have been disappointed. After a few months of cooking with this stove I threw in the towel and got a new one. I think part of the problem was that the house was a foreclosure so it had been unused and empty for awhile. Temperature Control When the knobs were working to turn in the stove it did give off good heat and it seemed to be evenly distributed. I definitely do like gas stoves and ovens over electric. Heat Distribution Heat seemed to be evenly distributed. Water always boiled and my sauces and soups never burned. Simmering dishes seemed to work well. Durability Not the most durable especially when left to sit and not be used for awhile. Ease of Cleaning The grates on top of the stove came off so I was able to clean them pretty good. When we first moved in there seemed to be a lot of this rusty dust by the burner where it ignites. That was a little difficult to clean.

Excellent stove

We have owned this Kenmore Elite 5.6 cubic foot oven for approximately seven years now. I do not have one complaint about this stove. It does it's job as expected, looks nice, was a great price, and is easy to clean. It is also very easy to use, no fancy buttons or frills, just your basic oven. The temperature controls seem to be accurate as I rarely burn any food, like I did with my last oven. Now maybe it was just me, and over the years I am becoming a better cook, coincidence or not, this one seems to work better. I will blame it on the oven. It also holds up well if you have pets that like to jump and lean on your counters and appliances and scratch on them. There is no signs of any dog scratches going down the finish of the stove. It cleans up nicely without much scrubbing, there are no chips in the paint. Okay so I did lie when I said I had no complaints, my only complaint is the glass window in the oven door, it seems to have food in between the glass and I have no idea how I am supposed to clean it. So, for that reason, I do not use the light in the oven as it makes the dirty glass show more. Besides that, I would recommend this oven to anyone looking for a simple addition to their kitchen.

Now that Ive used gas I never wanna go back.

When I moved the most recent time I had to replace the oven in the kitchen, which seemed a little daunting because it was a gas oven and not electric. I had never had to buy a gas appliance before. So off to the store I went, not even knowing if Kenmore made gas stove/ovens. That's how little I knew. Luckily after talking to the salesman we decided that this was the right on for my needs. And I was less afraid of buying a gas oven. From the first time I used the stove I have loved this Kenmore gas stove. Not only is it easy to use, I personally think it cooks better than the electric ones. The taste of stuff that I cook on this range just seems to taste better than when I've cooked the same thing on a regular electric range. If you've read my other reviews of appliances, you'll notice that one of the most important things to me is the ease of cleaning. For some reason I was under the impression that gas would be harder to clean. Yeah, I know it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But that is definitely not the case. This oven and range were incredibly easy to clean. I know gas isn't as popular with people these days, but now that I've purchased this Kenmore gas range/stove I don't ever want to go back to electric ranges. If you're looking to buy a gas range. I would recommend this one, you won't be sorry. Temperature Control Never have had a problem with temperature control. Everything has been cooked completely through.
