My old washing machine bit the dust the day after Christmas...and I was working.  My husband called me from Sears and asked me what I wanted.  I told him that I trusted his judgment.  He brought home a Kenmore 800. There are so many things that I hate about this new machine.  #1...you can not start the washer with the lid up...it will not run water unless the lid is down. #2 it decides for me how much water to put in the machine...i don't get to decide. #3 laundry is not always clean...and free of detergent. I cannot use powdered detergent anymore because detergent will not rinse off of clothes....I...

I bought my Kenmore 800 today and can't believe all that it does compared to other washers from other stores. To get all that I got I would have spent another $100 to $200. I am very pleased with it performance. It is not as quiet as I thought it was supposed to be but it is quieter than my last.

I have bought many Kenmores and have always been happy with them, until now.

This Kenmore 800 washing machine has many cons. If you want to add one more sock you find, to a load, after you started the machine, it completely screws up the cycle. Can not open lid once it is started. You can not choose your own water level. Leaves soap on the clothes because it decides how much water should be used. I have to double rinse all my loads. Expensive and time waster. When it puts on the brakes to stop spinning sounds like it is going to fall apart. Piece of junk. What has happened to sears?

Kenmore 800 Washing Machine

My Parents bought this toady, It went back tonight!

Mom has alwasy bought Kenmore washing machines, but this unit will be changing that!I

t seemed to be heavly bulit, Weight wise anyway...But after opening the box, the back was not put onto the machine, Missed the 2 clips that hold the back onto the case,"Outside Housing" the only other thing holding the back on were 2 very small screws.

The outside cabinet was just pushed into a long plastic strip down each side. IT Fell off when the machine was run the first time!!  Also, the water level is set automatically,...

I suspected this machine design was defective when I did my first load.  The sensor, when on rinse cycle and when washing kingsize cotton sheets, will only put a two or three inches of water in machine tub, meaning the sheets eventually will be worn out in washing, not from use.  When washing bath mats, same thing.  It has torn $80 worth of quality/expensive bath mats to shreds.  I would NEVER recommend buying this machine, and just to save my clothes and other washable materials will probably sell or give it away and buy another.

The machine is noisy in the agitation stage and because of the auto leveling system you have to put the deteregnt in before you load clothes then you start the water, this process may be causing stains on my clothes. Would not purchase this type of auto fill system in the future.
