Our Kenmore freezer saves us space and money!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We bought our Kenmore chest freezer 6 years ago.  We were living in a tiny little town and had to do big shopping trips and our fridge didn't hold it all.  Since then we've lived in a lot of different places and have loved this freezer for its space, it's convenient basket, it's great defrosting features, low energy costs, and especially money saving helps with being able to freeze our stock up purchases for our large family.  We've never had any trouble with it and use it every day!  It's been through a lot of moves and still runs great.  Definitely worth purchasing if you are looking to save on grocery deals but don't have the space, or want to buy in bulk but not sure if you can store it!

Very Roomy Little Freezer

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This is a great little freezer! It is very spacious and can hold a lot of food. It has a hanging basket on the top that can slide back and forth and then there are 2 shelves on the side. This is great because it is pretty deep and you hate to pile everything on top of the other and have to dig for what youre looking for. This helps you put what you use most in a convenient spot. it is pretty compact and light weight and is on wheels so it is very easy to fit into tight spaces. since its on wheels, it is easy to slide back and forth in case you need to put it in front of something and need to get behind it. only draw backs are that it is deep and difficult to get to the bottom and i am fairly tall. Also, the plug, of course, is a heavy duty one and sticks out pretty far, so if you want it flush against the wall, that isnt good. probably sticks out about 4-6". over all, i love my freezer!!

this a real good value for your money

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased the kenmore freezer for my mother a few years ago, I loved it, not too big, not too small, it was perfect for her. I think I paid about 300.00 for it and it was well worth it. When I bought it, she thought I was spending to much for it. But after all these years, she has not had to invest an arm or a leg to do any repairs on it. It is a space saver, it holds all the overflow that her refrigerator freezer won't. It has a rack inside to put her groceries that she doesn't want to have to dig for days. I think the Kenmore chest freezer is/was a great buy. If I have to buy her another, it's going to be a Kenmore.

'cool' freezer

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This is a space saving freezer that holds more than you would expect. We almost bought the larger one but, we're glad we went with this one because we have more than enough space. It was on sale when we bought it at a little over a hundred and I am sure we have saved at least that amount with the food we have saved from spoiling. We have had it for over a year and we haven't had to defrost yet which is great because I thought we would have to defrost at LEAST once a year. I love that it had a lock and for my husband's birthday I bought him an ice cream cake and locked it in the freezer so he wouldn't peek. What a great feature! When we host parties we keep extra ice in it to make sure we don't run out and it doesn't take up space and clutter the refrigerator freezer.

cold kenmore chest freezer

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

this Kenmore Chest Freezer seems to be a great add to the house. It is very helpful. We now have so much more room for the rest of our grocerys, NOW WE ONLY MAKE ONE TRIP TO THE STORE. It keeps our frozen foods very chill. It is not too big to deal with so that is very handy as well. also its cute in our kitchen and its also like another counter space top. I would deffinatly recommend this to other people just because I think anyone could use it because of how much space it gives you for your frozen foods. Its also very handy because I have a very large family and so that only means that we need more freezer storage space and that is why we now have the Kenmore chest freezer.

Great for little apartments!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

When my husband and I first were married, I could never find enough space to put all the frozen foods we had. I needed space to put my meat and larger items. We had a small apartment for the two of us and there really was not much space. After shopping around, we found this particular model that fit our budget and the space we had available. It has been wonderful! It is very quiet and is not a power hog. It is very easy to clean and fits everything that we needed. Now that our family is growing, I have bought an additional freezer (the same model just a size bigger than this one!) and we use this one for the things we use more often. This is a great product and I highly recommend it to anyone!

Good Freezer for the Price

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We recently decided that we needed a chest freezer so that we could store larger quantities of meat. We did a lot of looking and research and decided to purchase this chest freezer. For the price, it is a great product. It runs quietly and the sliding baskets are great. We put bulk meat in the bottom of the freezer and put what we use most often in the basket and the side of the freezer. We don't have any problems reaching into the bottom of the freezer and we keep a couple pounds of our most used meats in the baskets. It is a great price for the size of freezer you get. It is also not too large, so you can fit it almost anywhere. It is projected to cost very little annually to run the freezer and that is also great!

Kenmore Model #253.16342102 is poor quality!!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I purchased a Kenmore Chest Freezer Model #253.16342102 in November of 2008 (2 years ago).  Last week the freezer quit working and we lost approximately $400 worth of frozen foods/meat.  I called Sears hoping there would be a manufacturers warranty that would cover the repair of the freezer.  Of course, there was not and they wanted $75 to send a technichian to look at the freezer (they collect the $75 up front).  Upon the technician's review of the freezer, I was informed that it need a new compressor and it was going to cost $450!!!  The freezer by itself was only $500 and it was only 2 years old.

I immediately called Sears hoping they would realize that this was ...

A Great Mid-Sized Freezer

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I highly recommend this freezer. We upgraded from a very small chest freezer to this one, about 1 year ago. I don't think our energy usage went up at all which was great! I was trying to decide between the advantage of an upright freezer with better organization vs. the advantage of the chest freezer with better energy use. I have to say this freezer actually has it all. It is set up with one horizontal plastic divider that runs the length of the freezer and then 2 plastic dividers that run the depth of the freezer, giving 6 compartments in all. There are also 2 baskets. This gives nice organization to a freezer that is great on energy use. You do want to be careful about just standing and looking in your freezer for a while, deciding what you want, because you will get ice and frost build-up. Besides that, this is really a nice mid-size freezer that works well for a variety of purposes.

Kenmore Freezer Chest

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We used to have a large chest freezer. But when the children were gone and we moved to a smaller place, the large freezer had to stay behind. After beeing without a freezer for a few month, we dicided we needed more freezer space than what the refridgerator had. We looked at a few models and decided on the small Kenmore chest freezer. It didn't look very big, but it holds a lot of food. I think it is just the right size for a small family. It doesn't have a light, but doesn't really need it. There is a handy basket that slides to either side.On the back wall there is a blue button. When the ice on the walls starts to cover that button, then it's time to defrost it. We've had this freezer for...

The best little freezer for small spaces.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

After doing much research on chest freezers, the Sears Kenmore 7.2 cu.ft. is outstanding. Many other brands did not come close to the Kenmore. The added feature of having a lock on the lid is very appealing and is a big help to keep children out of it. That is a big plus for a safety feature. Sears Kenmore speaks for itself. Kenmore brands has the reputation of being a very sturdy appliance in many ways. The freezer holds up to 225 lbs. of meat. That will last us the winter. It seems small until you see just how much you can store in it. Another great feature is the purchasing of the extended three year warranty. It not only will cover parts and labor, but a bonus is if the freezer malfuncti...

A Freezer that does exactly what it tells you!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The Kenmore Chest Freezer is a wonderful freezer. I used to have a oversized older model freezer and was seeking to find something newer and more modern. It fits conviently in the corner of my dining room. I can easily find anything ive placed in there as well. I use this daily! A great thing about having a chest freezer is you can make bigger batches of your dinner and store them for a later date. You can also buy bulk amounts of meat and store them which saves you money! The freezer is a good purchase for anyone who has a large family or just someone who loves to cook at home! Here's a great hint for moms who have newborns, Its great to store that extra breastmilk that you cannot fit into your normal fridge! Keeps everything frozen until im ready to use it! I hope you enjoy it!

This little freezer can hold alot!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

When we bought our freezer it was due to the fact that our freezer space was far to limited.  When our local store had a meat sale, we knew we had to get a small and efficient freezer.  Our first stop was to Sears and with the help of the sales person, he matched us up with the perfect size and price.

We end up buying bout 75 pounds of meat.  This included hamburger, steaks, pork chops and both beef and pork ribs.  We repackaged the meat and to this day--about six months later we are still working on out loot.

Our electric bill only went up about $5.00 per month.  We are totally satisfied with our purchase.  BTW, the guys that delevired it were great.  They took their shoes off before they came in and were very respectful during the entire process.

Besides meat our freezer holds pizzas, ice cream, pot pies, bread.  I mean EVERYTHING!!

5.0 cu. ft. chest freezer is awesome!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We needed extra space for frozen foods, out refrig. freezer just wasn't large enough. We only go shopping twice a month, and finding place to store all the grocery's is a real challenge. I looked at many brands, and many stores before purchasing this freezer. I did find lower prices at a couple of stores, but the freezers were name brands that I had never heard of. After researching the brand names online, they are made in China, and they really don't have good reviews. So, naturally, I purchased the Sears freezer. It's a brand I trust!
