This is my second  summer with my Kenmore 72059 Thru Wall/Window Air Conditioner and it still works just as great as the first day I turned it on. Though I never personally installed it, the business I bought it at locally installed within just a few minutes and it seemed very effortless and quick. Some people complain they dislike the noise from a window ac unit,and this is the quietest one I have ever had or seen before. I have a decent sized home and it cools it quick and effeciently. I run it on high all the time due to some health problems which have resulted in me being hot all the time and I am not comfortable if my house's indoor temp gets above 65,it is very energy efficient and it does not consume alot of electricity. A removable filter which cleans up very easy with a toothbrush and a little soap and it pops right back in place easily. My unit has a light that comes on after the unit has ran so many hours to notify me that it is time to check the filter to make sure it is clean. Definetly would buy one of these again in the future. I've got this in my bedroom window. My heat pump does a good job but I like it very cold when I sleep. This does a very good job. I love it. It's not to loud it's just right. I love the settings on this they work great for me. great price as well I couldn't have gotten anything better. very happy

We bought this window unit air condition to put in our children's bedroom.  We have a year old boy and 3 year old girl who share a bedroom that gets very hot on hot summer evenings.  I (the mom) was able to install this window unit all by myself while my husband was at work.  It is very heavy, but if you are a woman who is in good shape and can lift heavy objects you should be able to put this in yourself also.  If not just find a strong man.  This unit does  a great job at cooling off the kids bedroom - which is about 12 feet by 12 feet.  I do feel guilty when it is running thinking that it is sucking a lot of electricity.  It helps the kids get a good nights sleep and that really is what we were after.  The timer is a nice function, but we didn't use it at all.  We just turn it on at betime and off when we wake up in the morning.  It is quite loud, but for sleeping it rather nice - creates great white noise.

We moved into an old farm house in northwest Iowa and quickly found out how awful those summers were without air conditioning. Instead of installing central air, since we were only renting instead of owning we purchased fans and this Kenmore window unit. Oh what a relief - we placed it in the center of the house in the window of the den and it kept our house very cool. With twin infants plus four adults it did it's job! We also loved the timer feature and that it was an energy saving one! Saved us tons of money!

The Kenmore Airconditioner is a great buy!  it keeps your room or rooms cool and has an energy saver mode to be more energy efficient.  It is also smaller than most air conditioners I've seen, so if you have a smaller window it would be perfect for that.  Even if you don't have a small window there are flaps on the side that extend to fit any window.
