Kenmore 54701 Dehumidifier Reviews

The Kenmore Dehumidifier is worth every penny. It is the most reliable one on the market. We have had ours for over 5 years and never had a problem with it . We also bought another one with a warranty and after 2 years it was not working up to par so we brought in to have it checked out. The guy at the service department said they could not fix it but we were entitled to a new one which we went to pick up that day . It has not given us a bit of trouble. We bought the Kenmore 50 pint dehumidifier after our

basement flooded. It was a bit more pricey compared to

other brands, but totally worth it. The machine is very

powerful, but is very quiet. Its amazing how much water

this machine can suck in from the air! It is very easy to use

also.

The Kenmore Dehumidifier I bought was a lifesaver.  When I could not get a restoration company to come in and dry my basement from a disaster of 4 inches of water, this dehumidifier did the trick.  Once the water was pumped out with my sump pump, this little marvel did the rest.  All I had to do was plug it in.  It cannot overflow with an automatic shutoff.  The bucket is easy to empty with its own carrying handle.  I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

After four years, the dehumidifier is making  horrible noises and no longer works.  I'll write more after I get an estimate on the repair.

I had a kenmore 54701 dehumidifier and it broke after 4 months of running it 8 hours a day 4 days a week.I lost my receipt so i was out all my money.Most dehumidifiers are easy to use and it did do its job for 4 months but i am going to try and find a more reliable model.

I bought my Kenmore 54701 new from Sears in June, 2005.  Since then I have had four problems.  In 2006, 2008 and 2009 a new evaporator was in stalled.  A month after the last repair it doesn't run at all.  I'll contact Sears - I think it is a lemon, but if there is no satisfaction, I'll be looking for a new brand.

I hve had  a similar experience with the Kenmore 54701 dehumidifier after about 3 years of use (only use in the summer). It got very loud and is no longer working at all. For an expensive dehumidifier it is very diappointing,. I would not recommend Kenmore dehumidifiers to anyone after this experience.
