Ken Burns' Baseball Review

As a lifelong baseball fan I sat down to watch Ken Burns baseball the 10 DVD set 15 years after it's release. I became an instant Ken Burns fan after watching Jazz. Baseball fits the Ken Burns format with a opening title, interviews and quotes framing the discussion. I thought I may be a little bored with the history of baseball from the mid 1800 to present but I was captivated by it. It shed great light on the early start and America's great love of Baseball and shed light on stars I had heard about but never knew like Walter John, and Christy Mathison. It gave me a greater appreciation of why Babe Ruth was so loved by baseball fans, and why Shoeless Joe Jackson is still banned from baseball. The detail was incredible and the honesty refreshing. As the Boys of summer take the field again, take sometime to view Ken Burns Baseball
